Well I'm afraid I'm the moody one today! My 2 year old has reverted to being a baby and waking up several times in the night, I NEED SLEEP!!!!! On the up side had another sale on ebay and my first amazon sale. Working tonight so will have to catch up with everything on here again tomorrow probably, hopefully smiling not moaning!!! Must work out my profit situation over the weekend.
Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.
Keen to live a healthly lifestyle and save money
  • Teeny progress for me today, probably due to the fact i had about an hours sleep last night :rotfl:

Been uber-ly MSE and cashed in my old phone, through Quidco aswell and chose an Argos Card thing rather than money to get an extra 10% since I will definately be buying at least £20 worth of Argos stuff when I finally get the keys to my flat :)

Then I checked and found I could get about £3 for an even older phone BUT i don't know where it is, ooops.

Applied for a couple of jobs but theres nothing really going except cleaning jobs :( not that i'm against cleaning jobs but i'd be spending more on transport and childcare to do two hours a day, it just wouldn't be viable.

Really need to get cracking with eBay but painting, dressing up as spacemen and going to the moon etc all seem to be more appealing :D

My porcelain dolls I want rid off don't seem to sell well on eBay, well the ones I can find on there, so I think I need to come up with a better plan.

Got DS's preschool invoice today, £249.98, ouch
It's not kids that are expensive, it's getting rid of them that costs :rotfl:

Been working hard so not been on for a while but is anyone getting fed up of people on ebay undercutting everyone by a massive amount?

said item ranging from 5.49-8.99 free post i list mine at 5.49 just gone to drop price to 4.99 as sold none to find someone is selling at 2.99! they'll only be making a 80p profit at that price i can't jusify putting in all the effort for that.
is it just me getting narked?

obviously i expect competition but surely they are just knocking their own and others profits going that low.

on a plus side got money for my old gold £51 for all broken bits, cashformygold much recommended, gave me a rate of 8.25 per gram compared to my local jewelers at 5.50 a gram.

lindsey - ignore what other people are doing, you have to price items for how much you want, not for what other sellers are doing

    Hello again all x x

Glad to see you all have your heads down planning and making millions....keep up the fantastic work. :T

I have been a busy beaver too...this week I have done 20 hours overtime, listed on Ebay & Amazon (making £37), I have won £35 on BB, perused the charity shops like a hawk looking for bargains (this has brought about a Chanel eyeliner brand new, a first edition of a serial killers book and a Jackie annual from 1977 for 25pence).
On the saving money front I have: Applied for a free course towards my business,
walked to work instead of driven...even in this piddling down rain:cool:, shopped at the local freezer centre and carried it home rather than buying at Mr M's and driving home, used up two old crusts for beans on toast rather than bin them, put washing on airers rather than use tumbler dryer, meal planned, batch cooked, walked the dog for free exercise and I am working two shifts in a row tomorrow and that will save on petrol and I will get free meals lol.
I must be sad...it's also my birthday tomorrow and I am working 17 hours BUT it's all volunteered overtime and all adds to the pot. I am also on holiday for a week after tomorrow so things aren't bad really.

Hope you all have a fab weekend. x x

    Love Bam x x x

Wow, well done Bam, I'm exhausted just reading that list. You are tackling this challenge from all angles.

Yummymummy, LOL, I am sure there are lots of profit opportunities on the moon, so be on the look out for them while you're up there.

Anybody set up an A&L account? I just did it for the cashback (£45 Quidco) and the £100 switch offer A&L do, I only have an SO on the account i'm supposedly switching from, and i didn't agree to 1 of the 3 points so I won't be getting their £100 right? I think I may accidently have screwed up my entire banking system by doing this though (2 current accounts, 3 different 'savings' accounts, a cc and a loan ALL lloyds TSB) I'm actually freaking out about the whole 'other bank' thing lol. I might have to just put my £500 through for 2/3 months til the Quidco has paid out and close it.

    Hi YummyMummy,

I did it in November and the £100.00 from A&L was in my account last week, which surprised me. I haven't closed my old bank account either. I would still try and get the £100.00 if I were you, if you feel you were mis-sold the account in any way. I've personally found them very helpful.

You could ask to speak to the Complaints Department, and log a complaint on their system. I did this with Abbey a few weeks ago, as I had a terrible time with their security sytems, and they credited me with £30.00 as a goodwill gesture.

  • gosh, i havent posted here in ages.

well i'm still doing the challenge. a bit slower than i had hoped. mainly selling our own things on ebay and amazon. have ordered a few supplies to start selling things and still waiting on them to arrive.

really do need to read up on the daily clicks and bingo britain. also want to have a look at affiliate marketing to see if that can be any use to me.

trying hard to scrimp and save in everyday life but there always seems to be something needing bought or paid for.

have finally convinced OH that the money isnt going to make itself and he is actually going to have to at least invest a bit of time researching some ways of doing it. i have told him to try daily clicks to start and he has had a look on MSE. so thats a start. i think because he works away from home he finds it hard to see how he can make extra money.

not very well today so havent listed anything today but do need to step it up as i am being a bit casual about it and it wont cut the mustard.

everyone else is doing really well. keep it up.

Both me and the OH set up A&L accounts for the £100. We never closed our old current accounts and we were both credited the £100 within a couple of weeks.

OH then went on to recommend a freind and got another £25. Then another £50 because they mucked up something in the switchover (a SO to a savings account but I still complained)

And I am getting paid £45 from Quidco on the 31st for opening an account!

I like making money from the banks hehe :j

My unions got involved with my job thing. They say there taking it the whole hog because its unfair how they have done it. So fingers crossed I wont be job hunting yet!

Woohoo one of my auctions is at £7.49 (RI jeans that I have had for ages and thanks to my son, my hips will never fit back in them!!)

Yep I did this and not sure if I will qualify for the £100. Also getting a bit panicky about changing accounts as had mine for about 17 years :o I'm sure it will be fine though.....
