Why don't you want a website? I'd love to see your cakes - are they on here anywhere? A website seems like the best way to reach a large number of people. You could start a page on facebook and then people can become fans of it and invite friends etc...
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

  • You could open a flickr account and upload them there - then just give people the link...

Great achievement Bingo, i too have a loan i want to pay off in hte next year or so (still 7 years left to go :() so really well done!

Great profits on ebay also, can i just ask, dou buy second hand and resell on or do you go auctions?

Thankyou everyone for your generous comments.....

I only really buy from carboot sales as with working I find it very difficult viewing items at auctions. There again I did pop into one about 3 months ago,I saw 'a lot' (as in one lot) -that I was interested in,nothing special, but I saw a potential profit to be made.I left a bid of upto £70.00 for it,and guess what .....it went for £70.00.Call me a sceptic, but it just doesn't fit comfortable with me,I don't trust certain buying methods, high street auctions being one.
I find that at carboot sales I can view the item/s instantly, knock them down to rock bottom price (plead poverty or whatever it takes) then move on to my next victim ! I feel a great sense of satisfaction at finding bargains this way. Also due to the fact that I can almost skim read a table at a carboot,it never gets boring for me.I have a collectable interest in certain fields, but do not own a collection of anything.I always end up selling it / them !

I've mentioned this several times, but I find that used items gross vastly more profit than any amount of new items, for me anyway ! Finding an item for a £1.00 and selling it for £50.00 or even £500.00 is sooooooo rewarding.Having a hobby / interest / business where you get this type of return is obviously great too.The large profits are not every day,but they certainly are not infrequent,if you don't look, you'll never find them.
Years ago I struggled to fill the spare time I had,I use to waste hours and hours searching for ways to make extra money, paying for silly bits of info out of exchange & mart that I'd come across.I came across what I do purely by chance, and that was the turning point for me.I have never looked back, and can only now ever focus on positives.I feel life really is to short to dwell on trivialities, and can honestly say I'm totally fulfilled.

    Blah Blah Blah...........:o

    Thanks for listening

    Hi

I'm looking for a little help please. I want to put my cake photos on the internet somewhere, but don't want a website, does anyone have any ideas. I have them on my facebook, but don't want to keep adding people just so that they can see pictures of my cakes, and sending off photos through the post is expensive. I have had a couple of cake enquiries from friends of friends now so fingers crosed

Why not a website??? You can get a free one, add a little page about yourself and why you do cakes, a few pics of different types of cakes and a little bit about ordering. I would recommend once you do this you should go to the local paper and try and get them to do a piece about you, local woman, hand made celebration cakes etc etc...... should help business come in!

Not a lot to report here today, another couple of sales on Amazon and a massive problem with ebay. I tried to set up another seller account but ebay in their wisdom block you from registering with your own landline number on more than one account! I finally managed to get it sorted so I shall be able to list all my tat (or should I say valuable collectibles!!) to generate some more capital for my website/business.......

I didn't manage to get anything done to my business plan but there's always next week!

  • Ladymoon, I'll add that I managed to create a simple, free website in just a few hours using webs.com. So don't be put off if you think it's too complicated, really it isn't.

..........Trouble is the house is beginning to look like a charity shop- I'm not clearing stuff out (well, only a bit) - I'm shipping more in!:rotfl:

I'm just a lurker, but had to agree with this one, I know exactly how you feel!!!!
  • Well done Bing0 I can't wait for the day!!! You must feel great relief and freedom now.

Thanks guys for comments on my lil girl she seems happy enough (unless she attempts to stand) is having sofa days I am staying at my mum's so there is always 1 person with her I'm frightened she'll fall off a sofa etc etc I called the showroom today they said sorry and they have since moved it out of a public area. Friends have been saying see a solicitor too so if I go down that route my daughter will be beating me by a long run on this challenge!

Oh and popped back to the charity shop and the game was still there so bought it and its complete, there are 2 misprints on the board so I'm hoping this will make it worth more! I've been collecting old games for quite a while now and am tempted to keep it I've never looked into selling them on before and am not sure of the best avenue I don't think eBay will net me the best price I need to find a collector if anyone has any ideas on this I would appreciate it.

Keep up the good work! Sounds like every one is getting really spend savvy too,:T I think I've only spent about 80 quid this month including food, fuel, investments (about £4) and a £31 on a hol (daily mail deal) for april
  • I found a complete 60s/70s version of Monopoly Barcelona in the street once, just missing the game pieces ... wonder if that's worth anything?

Thanks ever so much for this - i've spent the last few hours trawling through all the fantastic ideas :D Can't wait to try them all out :D Actually, I WON'T wait, i'll get started trying them now :T
