Anyone got any ideas on what to do with £60 worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers? Was planning to get RAC cover but it's £51 - I can pay for AA cover through a cashback site for much the same price and keep my vouchers which makes more sense!

I guess I could use them for £60 worth of groceries but maybe there's a way I can use them for something that will make me money? Books maybe? Magazine subscriptions?

  • £160 up after selling the Blackberry that came with my phone contract.

Bought a Nokia 6700 off a friend of a friend today for £120 brand new, I think I'll be able to sell it for £140 on eBay and make a neat £20 profit.

I called T Mobile today to ensure it wasn't stolen, they checked the IMEI number and the phone is definitely registed to his name, so it's a contract phone like my Blackberry was. However, I was wondering... what if he reports it as stolen in a month or something, the phone could become useless for the person I sell it to and I'd get the blame. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? I have his address, can I get him to take his 'registered' name off the phone somehow, so I have insurance he wont report the phone he sold to me as stolen?:o

I'm seriously thinking bout adding a line on my auctions ...

Funny how most people are fantastic aye, and then the odd one  I find I wait 3 working days and then send a (preprepared so I don't have to write everytime) message that is very polite and says a friendly reminder that payment has not been made and I will have in post ASAP after payment clears. Hasn't failed me yet.

I've mentioned snippets of things to my OH and my Mum but neither are interested - can't wait to show them the 10K bank statement!
Thats what this place is for, loads of support and similar thinking! Hehe. My mum listens supportively but is not overly interested really, dont have an OH, so tend to overload my friends who get sick of hearing about me and my savings and stuff...:o

OMG OMG I'm really excited! I set up my Folksy shop at the weekend and I've just had my first sale :) I've sold a necklace and a card, which after fees will only make me about £7, but someone liked them enough to buy them!!! (Now I'm stressing that they won't like them when they see them IRL).
Congrats and I bet they LOVE them in real life. Guess that is something you move past as you continue to sell more items lol. :T

Saw a old game in a charity shop today gutted I didn't get it as researched it tonight and looks like it could go for 100 times the price tag will be popping there first thing in morning.

This happened to me today too, which draws me to the subject of todays rant ... or should I say lesson ... I am a teacher ... and if Amber Sunshine gets to be resident whip expert I have to have my niche too!

    RESEARCH

    1) Make a list of things that have sold well by watching auctions online or by checking closed auctions. You can also read posts on here (eg lego seems to be doing well okay!), etc You can pick an area or two that you can specialise in ...
    2) Write these down in a small book that you can carry with you when you are out looking for bargins
    3) If you are a bit obsessesive like I tend to be, you can write down within categories what sells well, eg, patterned [labals name] skirts, not black.
    4) This small note book should have sections, so you can quickly check an item, so if you are looking for designer clothes to onsell you should have womens/ mens/ childrens sections [lets not talk alphabetical order haha] and so on.
    5) This list should also give you ideas of things to check the Fatfingers website (is that the name? I can't do that in NZ, but trying to make a complete list lol) for incorrect spelling too for those yesterday that had no idea what to search for.

Have today made it my mission to sort out my notebooks systems lol and not miss similar oppourtunities because I am not aware.

Can't get back to the particular shop till a week from today so doubt they wont still be there ... fingers crossed lol!

Yay - got my refund from the courier company! £13.18... huzzah
Just checked my account online, really proud of myself - I am still overdrawn but I have managed to cut my expenditure to the bone. I didn't realise that I could get so much pleasure from not spending money!
Doing my usual to do list - it is a massive benefit as I am the world's greatest procrastinator. I followed a plan called self discipline in 10 days, and it made a world of difference to me.
Also, on my internet travels I found a great website called litemind. It is fantastic for lifestyle tips and on top of that they have the greatest book summaries ever in the form of mind maps so you can read some great business/self help books for free essentially.
