Right-mission for today-look into tax and see what exactly I should be writing down to set against it, I'm sure there are things i'm missing. I write down mileage, obvious outgoings-postage, paypal fees, things bought for the business, and a part of my broadband, but need to check if theres anything else I'm missing.0

Mornin' all ! Well - today's plan is to do some 'proper' work. I was lucky to get work this week from an agency - I'm a qualified accountant and have secured some freelance work. Obviously it's great, as it's 'guaranteed' money but I'm feeling at the moment like it's distracting me from my challenge! Ha ha.
I've got a few things on the go & looking into a few more but have decided not to get distracted today and concentrate on doing some work :<
Guess it's one of the (very few) drawbacks of working from home, too easy to be distracted!
Good luck to everyone today with whatever you have planned0 -

I'd like to buddy up with someone concentrating on alternative money-making schemes, like me ... maybe they could join my little MSN group ...
LOL, I was beginning to think I was the only one that was not using Ebay! I dont feel so alone now!I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
Hi everyone
Sold a book on Amazon overnight for £22I did write a long post last night but we are switching broadband and OH switched it off as I pressed send. Typical.
Anyway, I wanted at ask how you get your listing looking pretty on eBay eg how do you change fonts, centre wording etc? I'm a bit mortified actually as I used to do this with no problems, but now have no idea as I haven't eBayed for a couple of yearsI can't think what I'm doing wrong, but can't find any way to do it! The only solution I can come up with is that perhaps it doesn't work for Mac, like turbo lister doesn't. Hopefully this is not the case, but any help is greatly welcomed

A lot of people buy for the points, for example Nokia 1208 costs £14.97 but you get back 1028 points, worth x 4(a lot of deals are really worth nearer x 2-3). You always see a lot of items on Ebay that have the extra points.
This means for example pay £14.97 for phone to get £41.12 converted deals some people then sell phone at a loss to cut down the outlay, then some sell the deals at approx half value on Ebay, so profit.
Not getting into the rights or wrongs of this but worth noting Tesco can ban you for abusing the system(buying to resell)and T&C's state deals vouchers can't be resold.0 -
Seems funny to hear that you guys are starting to get up when it is about time for me to go to bed! Not sure why but I am ZZZZZZZZZZ tonight. Must be all the mental energy I am putting into this challenge lol.
Was reading a book by Richard Branson in the library, had no idea who he was but remembered someone saying maybe bingo was him in disguise so I thought it warrented a skim through.
So interesting. But now I have the quote in my head. All journeys begin with a single step (or pound as the case may be for you lot!!) ... so hey, most people have taken the first few steps.
Have almost hit the 5% mark. But some of that was selling things I didn't want which isn't going to be sustainable long term!
[Takes off for bed with the ideas notebook and a pen or three!!]

I'm off to a slow start but anything is better than nothing! I'm starting with Ebay because I really need to declutter. I'll really get going in the next week or so taking into account that most people don't get paid until next week.
I found something in a local discount shop for £1 each and have sold a couple for £3, okay, it's only £2 profit on each but I've trebled my money. Other sellers have the same item listed on Ebay in other colours (colour doesn't affect value on this item) for up to £7, I'm trying one at £4 plus p&p.
I'm looking at a few other ideas for when I run out of stuff to Ebay but nothing concrete yet.
Well done on all the successes so far!0 -
