Another grrrr....I typed out a really long biog about me in the hope someone would spot an opportunity I am missing and I lost it....you'd think I'd have learnt today! GRRRRRRR!
Googly eyes lol! I straight away think of sock puppets....ooo - collect odd socks ( ihave a few I could donate I am sure!) and cut a forked tongue shape from a cheap piece of felt, even maybe some hair etc, put together with a pair of your googly eyes and, hey presto, you have a 'make your own sock puppet' pack??? or even make your own sock puppets!! oo I have (not 100!) teddy bear noses, you could include some of those too......vary whats in each pack with different coloured socks and you could create a collectible set! maybe I am getting a little carried away now! lol!
love this thread!!! just need to stop reading and do some doing!!!!
Oh and Cake....don't forget Crufts could be a fantastic promotional time for you!!!! (that was my OHs idea!!)Life is a work in progress0 -
£24.00 to the total today, a little behind but l will make it up fingers crossed.
found 10p on the kids playground but this went in the sealed pot.
Need to do tax return tomorrow so l will have to stay away from ebay and this forum which are the places l seem to spend all my time at the moment otherwise l will get a £100 fine which will not bode well for my savings.:DIst 2014 : Win Weekend in York0 -
Ok here is a thought about the dreaded googly eyes......I did this years ago when I had younger children etc...
take a pencil, or a very cheap stick pen. a little square piece of whatever colour you fancy of fake fur. wrap around the eraser end of the pencil and tie with a tiny piece of ribbon. Glue the googly eyes on it, attach some sort of little note to the string etc....we used to call them frustration pencils and if you put the pencil between your hands and roll it really fast the fake fur hair goes all wonky and sorta cheers you up a bit............ok these really did sell and ummm just a thought......and yes rather silly!I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
nixinixi please try your biog again - maybe do it in word and the paste it here.
Would love to hear a bit more.

That just gives me warm fuzzies reading all the suggestions people had for what I have just checked myself and was in awe of! My son thought they were photos! Really amazing.
And GO CHALLENGERS for the awesome ideas!!Hi everyone
My dad was up today and he asked me, what will you do as you go on, will you be buying and selling bigger items for more profit? I said I don't know, the thought of risking large amounts scares me! but it made me think, do i need a plan? Does anyone else have any thoughts?
I think if you are looking for further opportunities then that is a start. Maybe you could try bigger things, maybe you could look for other sources of stock (either new/ used) with a higher margin, maybe you could try something that wasn't ebay reliant? To cover all bases...
Just think ... what unique angles to I have ... what do I have access to that no one else does through work or contacts ... what do I live near that I could use to my advantage ... what special talents do I have ... what could I learn to do that there is a market for ...
And sometimes it is easier for outsiders looking in to see these things hehe.
I read a girls blog from Aussie and she does hair cuts from home, and has come up with several other ways of building on her contacts in hair cutting industry and now wants to sell cookies to the owners to give out with their coffees and she has the contacts so they are keen ...
Just an example ... as the months go buy I guess we really all need to start thinking outside the square!!EMminently wrote: »That was a horrible ten minutes - you were all gone lol. I'm worryingly addicted to this thread!

hhmmn well I am not artistic (at all) I manage homeless hostels and traveller sites for work so I am pretty good (I like to think) with all types of people. I am a mum with 2 adorable girls - really not marketable skills! still on 0.0p10k in 2010 challenge £0.00/£10,000 - important thing is that I am going to try.
Good luck all x0 -

I am looking to set up an online shop and have downloaded a free e-commerce script (zen-cart) and am setting it up on an used domain, has anyone else use this, is it any good?
Also, did my tax return today and paid my tax so thats sorted (the best bit of advice I got when I first when self employed was to put away an amount from every invoice I got paid into a separate account to cover the tax (I provide a service with very little overheads so I put away around 25% of any money paid to me))Sell £1000 in 2016 - £12.48/£1000
Earn £2016 in 2016 - £0.00/£10000
