    I know the feeling!
  • I'm sorry for being really dumb but how does BB work, you get your £5 bonus everday... When you play bingo does your stake come out of your bonus money or the cash you invested in the first place, and how much do you have to reach to be able to withdraw..
Also, how are you guys making money out of it, by playing bingo or the other games?

Thanks a lot for all the input from everyone so far, you've all got some great ideas.
  • i've had a good few days, earnt plenty of overtime at the weekend and tonight my first 2 ebay items finished for a total of £103 inc postage and packing fees, so once those costs are taken away aswell as the ebay fees I will be able to update my signature.. and the overtime i'll add once i get paid it as you never know sometimes!!

Still nowhere near finding my regular source of extra income but i'll keep looking for the right opportunity.

Also just to echo what people said a bit earlier in the thread i really wish my mrs would be a bit more enthusiastic about this whole thing and money saving in general!
Anyways keep up the good work everyone!

    Here goes...again!

I'm a full-time mum, though I am registered self employed, but in the last 6 years have not earnt enough to pay any tax as too busy looking after my 4 and 3 year old. Though my oldest is at school and my youngest started nursery last week, as it is the school nursery I can't choose her hours and she goes 12.45-3.15pm, so effectively I have about 2 hours a day to really concentrate my efforts!

6 years ago I was made redundant, from a PR & Marketing role at a fostering agency. I was pursuing my Chartered Istitute of Marketing Diploma, before that I did a similar role at a further education college.

Since then I have made wedding stationery, made Order Of Services for funerals and offered PR & Marketing advice to small businesses. The stationery I am not happy with the quality so I have decided to stop that, PR & Marketing....great but I soo undercharge and give so many ideas for free because I can't justify charging properly that not really sure it is the right route....plus for the foreseable future (till Sep 2012) I still really only have 2 hours a day term time only.....can do more but would be interrupted by small children!
What else have I done, for a short while I worked in sales for a franchise overnight carrier, and also for a mobile tyre replacement....hated coldcalling/telesales, but didn't mind customer account managment/customer service. Before that (my original career, and training) was a photographer for our local newspaper, which I loved as I met so many different people, but the pay was soooooo bad....when I succeed at this challenge I will have earnt substantially more than I did back then! and briefly before that I worked as a photographer for a makeover studio. I have A-level Art, Music and English Literature and an HND in Electronic Media, specialinsing in Photography!

I have no hobbies other than surfing the net and reading MSE, facebook......I spend all my time as a mom and wife!

I have also considered blogging.....had no idea of a specialised area though.

Also my dad had a stroke a week and a half ago, so lots of extra things to think about at the moment.

    So any ideas anyone?

Oh and I apologise for my typing, I have no idea why I am sooo bad tonight, hopefully you can make sense of it all!

EDIT: woohoo it worked, thought the thread has moved on another page whilst I have been typing lol!

If you have any cash in your account it uses that first then moves onto the bonus, I have been pre-purchasing mine, using the cash first, then the next day you will have another £5 bonus, you need at least £20 to withdraw.

I only pay bingo but I know some others play roulette and the other games.

How do I do a signature please? x

Click on Quick Links above, one in from the right on the green bar (next to Log Out) and select Edit Signature ... type away. Have fun ;).

I've sold another load of stuff today! I've updated my signature to show my new total. I've even treated my OH to a new xbox game off ebay because he has given me loads of his stuff to sell and is being very supportive now.

Make sure that game is back on ebay the second he finishes it ;).

    For CAKEORDEATH

    Okay some thoughts.
There is the Dukes Playhouse which has a gallery and is fairly contemporary feel. They also have a caf!/bar – can’t remember if they have art displayed in there as well.
The Gregson institute displays local artists in the bar.
The whaletail vegetarian caf! used to but not sure they do now.
Ludus dance have regular artist displays in their lower entrance/hallway.
The Ashton memorial have an exhibition space right at the top but not much frequented.
The Midland hotel might display/buy artwork that is high quality and pertinent to the local area eg Eric Morecambe/ fishermen ? ?
The Winter Gardens may have some display space or even hire a shop front there for a short time – maybe with other local artists.
There is the Brewery arts centre with Gallery in Kendal.
There is the new Storey Institute with exhibitions going on
Litfest seem to be doing some collaboration with the Storey this year called stories from art. Where there will be writing workshops in the art gallery. Maybe you could get involved though it may just be art they are already exhibiting. But what about organising a short story competition based on one of your pieces. Not necessarily with your work as a prize as probably a bit too valuable.
Or some other sort of literary workshop collaboration. The spotlight club seem to do a lot of stuff like that.

How about putting together a photo montage postcard of your work to put in places like the dukes/ ludus etc as they seem to have lots of display space for this sort of promotional stuff.
There are quite a lot of kennels and catteries around why not leave some promo stuff with them.
There are quite a few riding schools etc. Do they have gymkhanas and other events- could you have a presence there or again leave promo stuff.
Maybe a wedding competition with something like Lancashire Life (not my bag) but lots of well to do people or people who think of themselves as well to do.
Central Lancaster High School have some artist studios for residencies – may be all taken??
Lancaster Animal rescue go to lots of fairs etc maybe they could display literature for you if they are on a commission.
Maybe join some animal type forums and have some info in your sig.
Contact Matt Damon and see if he wants your Bourne for a fortune!!
Sure there were some more ideas but just ran out of steam.
    Jo
I was going to PM this as its all local but thought it may still be useful in a wider context. sorry if irrelevant
