  • It's not a voucher deal as such but I'd like to recommend my favourite place to eat in Brighton for its excellent, hearty gastropub food and its seriously decent prices (hardly over £6 for mains). The atmosphere is great with funky local artwork adorning the walls and cool, friendly bar staff.
There's some more info for it at the following: http://www.foodeu.com/england/restaurants-in-brighton/hop-poles/489527/
  • Time out London has cheapest main course free voucher this week! Also another couple of money off vouchers!!
  • over the years I have tried a few different discount schemes and was always sceptical and looking for a catch.

Having moved back to Scotland recently and noticing that the Hi-Life Card is now also availible there, I decided to give it a go.

They are running a 2 month free trial to let you test things out for yorself, after wich I paid £39.95 for a year. So far I cannot knock it at all, my partner and I make an average saving of about £22 per night out, which when you are us, does not take long to add up.

Every single place in the book does the same 2 for 1 food offer as standard and we have had no problems from staff so far. Some places are restricted at weekends, but there are still hundreds without restrictions, so you never run short of places to choose from.

They have a website where you can sign up for the 2 month free trial, it also has a telephone number on it and a reference of JT to get the same offer over the phone as on the website. I used the website, as I was able to search the restaurants in my area, before signing up, just to make sure that they were good ones and trust me they are.

The website is www.hi-life.co.uk/jt and to be perfectly frank, if you go out more than twice a year, you will get your membership money back easily, so for me it is a no brainer.

Hope you find this as usefull as we did.

***Edited to add, although we bought the Scotland card, the offer is availible in the north west, Yorkshire, the Northeast, Ireland and Northern Ireland as well***
  • A friend at work told me about this website:

    http://www.priceyourmeal.com/

There are various deals such as £50 voucher, lunch for 2, dinner for 4, hotel rooms etc. which you get to bid on a bit like e-bay so for example you can get a £50 voucher for £40.

Only certain restaurants are signed up to it and I think the vouchers have expiry dates but it's still a great option if you are planning to go out anyway.

  • Any OAP visiting the town of Craven Arms, Shropshire, Monday-Thursday, can enjoy a very good value carvery consisting of Carvery and sweet for £6.50 at the Craven Arms Hotel, (by the traffic lights on the A49). The plate for the carvery is slightly smaller than for the full carvery (which I think was £6.95), but the amount of meat is quite generous and one can help onesself to vegetables. As far as I know the pudding is the same as for other diners, and there is a choice.
  • Sizzling Pub Company - 2 main courses for £5
