Hi, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where us september 2011 brides could plan together.

My story is... I got engaged to my lovely DF in November and we are just starting to plan. I am from Northern Ireland (getting married there) and now live in Surrey so we are going over in Feb to look at venues and hopefully get something booked. We are hoping to have a civil ceremony with reception in the same venue, hopefully in a nice country hotel/stately home. I have nothing booked as yet but thought we could all discuss our progress together!

Forgot to mention my friend owns a Bridal Shop in Dungannon and as she just had a baby a few months ago is thinking of selling up. Any dresses she has are going on sale @ I think 75% off. If you are interested maybe would be a good idea for you to visit her when your over in February

No way! I'm 3rd sept 2011 as well :D where are you getting married?
  • Cant believe we have the same date :rotfl:We are having a religious ceremony at our local chapel and then the reception is in tullyglass in ballamena. We like it - been to weddings there before and its handy for our families :D . We got engaged Sept 2008 but as I say i havent done anything else yet - had said I would start after xmas so I suppose thats now lol.

I have heard the tullyglass is lovely :D but never been there. I've not booked a venue but heading home at the start of Feb to book somewhere, we are planning to have a civil ceremony and reception all in one place and are looking at the Tullylagan (cookstown), Brownlow House (lurgan) and Parkanaur (dungannon). We only got engaged in November 09 so trying to get the ball rolling.
  • I've heard the Tullylagan is nice, havent been though! I suppose it wont be easy orgainising it when you aren't living here at the min. I have made a wee list now of what I need to do but its just trying to get motivated lol.

    Hi

We've just set our date for the wedding 18th September 2011. We're going on Friday to see about booking the venue for the wedding, meal and reception. So many things to ask about and none of them written down yet! Will probably forget some vitally important detail :o

Not looked into anything else yet but there are lots of wedding fairs in Scotland at the end of this month and into February so can see myself spending a small fortune just going to have a look  and i know what im like it usually costs me money when i go look!

We are trying to pay for the wedding on our own and am hoping that with some luck, some extra hours at work and with the help of my friends that we will have the day we want without still paying for it in years to come.
