hi all we booked brean sands for fri 26th march till 29 and we cant go now, if anyone wants to go there let me know and I will pm them cheers
  • I have some vouchers which I am not using - anyone want them? They are token 1, 3, 6, 10, 13 & 14 - pm me if you want any of them and I'll get them off to you asap!
  • Hi there, don't know if anyone else has had thihs. We booked through the sun tokens, got the holiday we wanted and there are only 2 adults and one child (knew we would have to still pay £38) however, they are charging us for 3 adults and one child half board supplement as they reckon you have to pay for minimum of 4... I can't find this anywhere in t&cs they say I'll have to contact the sun but surely my booking is with Pontins. They have only charged us for 3 entertainment passes so not sure why food is different. Can anyone help me on this one? thanks in advance.
  • That does'nt sound right at all. We are also a family of three. Last year when we booked a sun holiday (through the postal system), we had, to as you say to pay the £38 as it's for a minimum of four people, which we knew about, but only the entertainment passes for the three of us.
Funnily enough though, we have booked a DM holiday recently,(same thing minimum of 4) which we paid for online, and when the confirmation came through a few days ago , they tried to charge us for four entertainment passes!! We have just written to them informing them there are only three of us, and therefore we would only be paying for three passes.
I reckon they were trying to pull a fast one and hope we would'nt notice, as we were paying the balance rather than the full amount.
As far as i'm aware your contract is not with the paper but with the holiday park, as that is who you have all your correspondance with once your holiday has been allocated
Looks to me like they are trying it on:(, unless there are different rules when you go half board.
  • I don't know about Pontins but when we have booked directly with Butlins in the past we had a similar thing. If three of us stayed in Silver Accommodation then we had to pay for half board for four people (the max the accommodation would take). However if we stayed in Deluxe we only had to pay per person so it was cheaper to go Deluxe. Sounds mad really.
However if this was not made clear in the T&Cs then you shouldn't have to pay whatever their normal policy.

I went with Pontins last year and there was 3 of us and we paid the £38 but not anymore, we didnt have Half Board though, just Chalet.

I am getting a bit worried as I havent had any written confirmation about the holiday I booked yet, I got the email though. Has everyone else had theirs?
