I buy The Sun every day/other day anyway (don't laugh!) but have never used these vouchers or codes, how do they work? Are you more likely to get somewhere decent if you have used them before or what? Are they all parks you need a car to get to? (We have sold the motor).

    Thanks

Sorry if this has already been answered but I couldn't face wading through all the pages ;)

You don't get anywhere 'different' simply by virtue of having been with them before. You pick out the sites and dates you want and they are chosen automatically.

I know that others on the forum have told you that you can get sites near train stations but I should imagine that day to day travelling would be useful too. I realise some people with children stop on the site all week but its not everyone's cup of tea. (certainly not mine)

I don't know where you live and how far you want to travel but I know that 98% of the sites we have visited require a car to get to nearby towns. Many of them are far out in the countryside. Rye Pontins is the very back of beyond. (otherwise known as Camber Sands)

Some sites have bus stops outside, it depends how mobile you are.

For instance, Combe Haven near Rye, East Sussex is on a hill. There is a steep uphill climb just to get to the entrance from inside the site from quite a lot of the caravans or holiday homes. Then there is another steep hill to get down to the bus stop and, of course, back up when you get home laden with shopping.

Warmwell Leisure park, Weymouth is another one that is a trek through countryside from holiday home to reception.

Think of these things when booking. Even if you get a taxi from the station you still have to get your cases to the holiday home.

Bognor Regis Butlins is the only site I can think of, off hand, that you can actually walk into town from.

I would be interested, myself, actually if anyone knows of any others.
  • can people without priority form book online yet ?
or do they have to wait a few more days ?
    thanks james

I may be wrong (and I'm sure someone will tell me ;)) but I think the whole thing about having a priority form is that you CAN book online, if you don't have one then you CAN'T, sorry.

You need a special reference to get into the website, the one that is printed on the priority form.

The only way you can apply without it is to send off and hope for the best.

    Hi everybody,

For some reason I have not received a priority booking form this year:( and I am now worried that I am not going to be able to book the dates when we have all the children together.

I know its cheeky but does anybody have a priority booking form that they are not going to use?

Thanks for taking time to read this:o

Butlins Minehead is a short walk from minehead village with lots of little shops and bigger high street shop like boots and has banks. Also round corner is a large tesco and a mcdonalds. I saw coaches arriving there and busses and i am sure there is a bus that runs to one of the local train stations.

There is also the added 'excitement' of whether you get downstairs or upstairs, wahay!

Seriously, if you need a downstairs chalet for young children, buggies etc, ring the site direct and ask them for one a week or so before you go because it is so busy you are very unlikely to get one when you get there.
