I wrote a letter of complaint to the hotel chain, Copthorne. We stopped there on our wedding night, turned up in our suit and my wife in her lovely dress only to be greeted by a rude receptionist who did'nt even say congratulations (must of thought we were in fancy dress). Then to top it all off she referred to my 3month old daughter (also in cute white dress) as our "wake up call". Cheeky mare!!

The letter we received back was basically just an apology and if we ever want to stop there again, to get in touch with some woman (can't rememnber if she was a manager).

Never did stop there again though!

  • i have complained in the past with some good results

ASDA when i found a huge chunk of wood in my doughnut. took it back to shop and the bakery manager profusly apologised and gave us our money back (37p they were reduced) a complimentary£5 gift card adn a big box of cakes/pastries as a sorry.

i called the makers of York Fruits and got £4 cheque when i found a mouldy fruit in my box.

and the local bus company probably recognise me now i have to complain about the service so much. they send me free day tickets when i lodge a complaint

i am waiting on a reply from Brewsters after an appaling meal out shoddy service crap food and terrible attitude of the wating staff. i got an interim letter expressing their concern and agreing that i had a reason to be upset. should hear soon about that

i for one prefer to complain in writeing as it gives me time to calm down if im really upset as in the brewsters incident.

  • i complained to ikea recently that some of their child safety products simply were not good enough. i sent them back and said i was not prepared to drive 30miles for an 8pound refund. they refunded me the cost of the items as well as postage straight to my card over the phone after initial letters. very pleasant.

complained to tesco about lack of parent and child car parking compared to disabled parking and they just said they would discuss it at next meeting.

just written to my local councillor (who wants re-election) to complain at their leaflets, as their leaflets moan about litter problems in the area. I sagely pointed out that most of the litter was discarded flyers that had been posted to residents. Lets see if i get a response...!

complaint letter writing is very cathartic when you get a pleasant response and helps to focus you on what exactly the problem was.

We complained to Tommee Tippee via email about the fact that the lids would not stay on their closer to nature baby feeding bottles, they sent us 4 new bottles in the post the next day and also received a further 4 bottles the next day as well. So all in all 8 bottles :j

I recently complained to Gillette re Right Guard deoderant that would not spray properly straight away and then jammed.. Rang freephone number on can (you must have a can as they need the number on the bottom...of the can that is!) said it had happened before but had never thought to claim. Incredibly helpful and friendly lady said she would send me some vouchers....sent me £10 in Gillette vouchers.

Use them when they have a BOGOFF offer and whoopee heavenly armpits for ages.

Previously put this in without contact number sorry must have been the excitement at receiving the vouchers.

Freephone 0800 328 9214 and press number for customer services. remember though they require the original number on the bottom of the can you have bought.

This morning received a voucher from Andrex for £5.00.
Reason for voucher:- Sick of all the glue on the end , which means you end up with half a toilet roll on the floor and enough "bits" to start a confetti factory! Wouldn't normally have minded but another roll had all the perforations wrong..you know what I mean trying to match them up is a nightmare....Anyway enough of this toilet talk.

Rang customer services on 0800 626008 spoke to a very nice man explained problem and quoted the numbers which are inside the cardboard inserts of the toilet rolls. Told him they were from a pack of buy six get three free. (Which they were, for any sceptics out there). And hey presto £5.00 voucher this morning......weeeeeee....wrong word to use perhaps?!

Inspired by this thread, I wrote a complaint to Domino's after our pizza was delivered an hour late and cold. I got an apology and a voucher for "any pizza any size". Happy! :)

Personally I'd be complaining if there was a lack of disabled parking (and no I'm not disabled) but i have to ask why complain about lack of parent and child parking? It's not hard to walk from a car to a supermarket entrance with children (my friend has 6 and she manages quite well without using the parent and child parking) even if you're parked in the car parking spot furthest away from the entrance. And if it's too much to cope with child and trolley on your way back to the car the supermarket staff will help you. Stop being lazy!
:hello:  It's official I'm addicted to Boots - the total on my Advantage Card has gone over £300  :hello:

Have you ever tried to find a car parking space big enough to open both sides of the car fully? I have 2 babies and I can't use a normal parking space. I can only go shopping with my partner and if we can't get in parent and child spaces he has to pull the car out of the space so we can get both babies into the car. Not fun when its peeing it down with rain
