I complained to Woolworths because I had phoned them about an Xbox 360 game that my boyfriend wanted and they gave me the wrong release date and the wrong price by £10. We went to go and get it and they were prepared to sell it to us a day early but would not honour the price I was told over the phone. I wrote and complained but just received a letter of apology.

I have also complained to PC world because i was browsing their website and reserved another Xbox 360 game that my boyfriend wanted, it said we could collect as soon as an hour after placing the order up until the close of business the next day. We went to collect it a few hours after ordering and they said we couldn't have it as it wasn't released until the following day! There was nothing on the website saying it hadn't been released yet or was a pre-order. So I wrote a letter and got a £10 cheque for the waste of time/petrol and inconvenience caused.

After my success I decided to complain to LX Direct catalogue about the delivery service as I had 4 missed collections in the space of 2 weeks which meant I had had to stay in all day for no reason on 4 occasions. Even worse was that I had checked with LX Direct around lunchtime on 2 or 3 of those occasions and they confirmed the collection was booked. I have just received a phone call today telling me that they will send me a £50 cheque to apologise.
  • 1. I have already said I don't know the name of this website, I was only told of it this morning and didn't feel the need to find out the name, it was just a passing comment in conversation
    2. If people out there are worried by my mentioning this then I can only assume they are dishonest people and in that case have every need to be worried as one day may find themselves getting caught out, am I hitting close to home with that?

I'm assuming you make stuff up.

You seem to miss the fact that a lot of people are timid about complaining even when they know they have a right to. That is why they come here for advice.

By spreading rumours about a site that suposidly lists all complainers details but not actually posting hard facts like a link then all you are doing is scaremongering.

As for your other comments they couldn't be further from the truth and if I were you I'd be very careful what you accuse people of in a public forum.

For blooming freezing, I am not saying you are making up this said website, but recently I complained to nestle because I only got 2 strawberry creams in a huge tin, they sent me a £4 chq. Now, if I found out that my name and address had been posted on to this said website surely I could take action as I was not told and had no way of refusing to be put on said website, surely this is a breach of your consumer rights. (or whatever other rights there are)??? I thought you always had the right to refuse your name being given to other companies and used, unless for credit reasons. ???
  • Jesus....this is the last i'm saying on the matter. Not once (please feel free to go back and read my original post) did I say the website lists all your details, name, age, address, inside leg measurement (yes, I am being sarcastic now) etc. That's other people playing 'chinese whispers' and adding their own bits. There IS a website, like I said the company my mum works at (which is a multi national company) uses it. It might just be for retailers etc. It's where companies of similar natures share info, for EXAMPLE (i'm stressing example as I know you like to make things up) cereal makers or cosmetics companies. I don't know the name of the site and quite frankly now I don't care. As I said before you should only have need for concern if you are dishonest. But i'm sure you won't have the cops knocking at your door. So please, all concerned you can sleep peacefully.

All this fuss about whether they save your details or not is cobblers. A complaint is a complaint. It is an opinion and everyone is allowed an opinion. I have complained repeatedly about things that are valid (the service at McDonald's restaurants- which is consistently awful for eaxmple)and less valid complaints perhaps - such as the complaint to Heinz that I found their leek soup offensive as it wasn't up to scratch with the standards assosciated with a great national dish associated with Wales. I'll still keep on complaining if only to give the poor beggars in the customer service dept a laugh!

In fact you can complain as often as you like. Those poor souls at customer services enjoy it. They pin the best examples to the wall. It gives them something to laugh about in an otherwise empty day. So if you have a complaint about a tin of beef stew it's no good moaning about the chewiness of the meat. Tell them that the smell of the aforementioned stew reminds you of the smell of yor half sister's slippers who died in a tragic accident involving seagulls on Blackpool promenade, and it has caused you untold psychological trauma in remembering her avian related passing.

It def was a stomach bug or something like that (meal eaten at 6pm, partner violently sick around 4am etc with the whole works for a few days after).
I did infact contact the environmental health, and brewers fayre have emailed a sheet to fill in with our details, the food eaten etc so they can carry out an independant health and safety check. :o
So don't panic too much ;)

Food poisining symptoms only appears 48+ after eating the offending meal

i got food poisining went to see my GP as i couldnt get out of bed for a week they confirmed food poisining and as a matter of routine informed environmental health who then sent me a letter to ask for details and to take up an investigation on my behalf should i wish to do so

never did, as i wasnt 100% where i got the food poisining from but i wouldnt trust a company that says they'll do their own "independent investigation"
    ** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **
  • A TV chef once said that we as Brits don’t complain enough.
I tend to agree. If the company doesn’t know that things are going wrong how can they rectify the service or product?

I tend to say something at the time and go to the website of the company/product and complain higher incase the complaint at the time is brushed under the carpet.

I once visited a holiday resort near Penrith and had a few complaints at there restaurants. Once because the service was slow and food was cold, ended up getting drinks free. Next time was because I found a piece of plastic in my ice cream, that turned out to be part of the tub, and again got the drinks free, it all adds up!!!
I also complained at frozen food shop once because while serving at the checkout the MANAGER stood and watched as people struggled with products onto and off and never offered to help. Funny thing was I didnt need help but got vouchers for complaining.

I also complained about a public path near my house that every Autumn and Winter it flooded it got totally done up new drainage widened and re-surfaced.

Loads more I feel its worth it, as it does add up.
Don’t know if I would go as far as complain about no waffle in a Kit Kat tho. lol
