NoAfter reading about the sucesses on this thread, I sent a £3.50 bottle of nail varnish back to Maybelline as it had gone all stick the second time I went to use it. They were most helpful and sent me vouchers worth £9 to get a new one!
Needless to say, I was very happy!0 -
NoI'm thinking of writing to "One" railway as when I went to visit my partner a few weeks ago, someone was sitting in the seat I'd booked, and when I showed her my booked ticket, she also had a booked ticket for the same date and the same seat. I therefore spent over three quarters of my journey stood up (and it's a 2 hour journey).
I book tickets as that's the only way I can guarantee getting a seat on those long journeys.
Has anyone else done this before and if so, what would be the best thing to say.
Thanks

I've only ever wrote one letter of complaint and nothing came of it. Four weeks ago I went to the hairdressers (a branch of a well known company) and had my hair done. I had a chunk of blonde put in my hair. Anyways, she messed it up real bad and in the end...burnt my scalp. However, she didn't tell me that she'd burnt it, I felt it stinging but didn't realise it was that bad. I got home and told my mum my scalp hurt and my hair was matted where it was hurting. She looked at it and my scalp was oozing liquid and was blistered. I also had a bald patch. I couldn't believe that she let me pay £85 and walk out of there without even warning me that it was blistered. I was so upset.
Anyways, I emailed the company asking for advice on what to do with my scalp and telling them, they wrote back over a week later asking me to ring them or email my number for them to ring me. I rang them but no answer, so I left a message. No reply. I am absolutely disgusted with the service. I wouldn't have been so mad if they had of at least told me in the hair dressers about my scalp, but to be ignored by the company as well. Grrrr.
I have never had any trouble with this company before and have always been willing to pay between £80 and £100 for my hair doing there....but not anymore. It was a very simple procedure and she messed it up big style.
Sorry, my grammer is bad, I'm just angry at them.

edit: spurred on by this thread i have just emailed the company that owns the hair dressing company. see if they are any better at customer service.:A I love MSE!!! :A0 -
Kittykate... you should DEF persue this - Don't give up... and I hope you're fully recovered now!
I had a knightmare when I bought my kitchen from B&Q, in December 2004... Took A LOT of work, letters, follow up calls but eventually got £1300 back compensation which was fab as the kitchen only cost £3500
When I think about it, I do complain where I see the reason to but like others on here I also praise a lot too... I tend not to complain about small things, like I bought a box of special k, red berries but no red berries in the box... Gggrr! This was about a month ago now, Keep meaning to do something about it but not got round to it yet... I guess I only seriously complain when I can see a bigger reward... time is precious!
Vauxhall didn't bring my car back till way after 6pm after a service, I finished work at half 5 and they had my house keys on the bunch too, thought they'd gone home and forgot about me and I'd have to sleep at work! Got to drive round in one of thier sports cars for my week off the next week0 -
Noyou could probarbly sue for that kate! I wouldnt be satisfied even with a full refund if that had happend to me, if anything like that happens you should really try and get photos and record date/time but i'm sure that even with the threat of legal action they would be willing to pay up real quick.0

i just wish she'd have told me. At least then it wouldn't have been as distressing. I don't think I could sue them as before the treatment I had to sign a form about having reactions test etc. I wouldn't sue them anyway. I just need to find a new hairdressers now.:A I love MSE!!! :A0

I bought a book from Sainsburys to read on hols, it fell apart and i got bored with trying to keep all the pages together.
I emailed Sainsburys and told them, a nice lady called me on the phone, appologised and said other customers had complained about the same thing. She said they'd send me a voucher.
I'd paid £5 for the book so expected that back, the next day I got 3 identical letters each with £10 vouchers in them...
Should I email them and tell them about the failure in their voucher sending systems? lol0 -
I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but a few days ago i bought a 4 pint bottle of milk from tescos, being in a hurry i didnt check the use by date on it. When i got it home i looked to see if there was a date printed on it and there wasn't. I took it back and was told by the girl at customer services to go and get another, no refund and replace, should i write to head office??And yes the lady in the avatar is me
