I complained to Wrigleys as i bought a packet of Airwaves that came without the outer shell casing. I sent an e-mail to them and i got a reply through the post saying it had to have happened during the manufacturing process and ask if i could send them to her for analysis. At this point i had thrown them away so i sent a letter back to the same woman expalining. I got a sorry letter this morning and 8 packets of Airwaves! :j
  • Smile sent me a new cash card, which was rejected by all cash machines when I tried to use it. My increasingly desperate 'secure messages' were not answered and I had to cancel my weekly food shop due to having no cash.

Card started working next day but I wrote to complain and asking for £15 to cover the time I'd wasted going round to different cash machines.

Got a reply saying that they'd sent out a batch of cards without the necessary 'Phone 0800 whatever to authorise this card before using' text, and that they'd give me £50 compensation.

Cunning move as I have not complained about several minor issues since then, thinking 'well they gave me £35 more than I asked for.'

As there are so many complainers here . has anyone got a good template letter to use for complaing?

i got to write to mcdonalds as the last 3 times my order is wrong as i dont always check while im there ..you do try to trust them . so i go home . problem is its a 2 mile drive each way . and not funny when you got a hungrey family

    any tips please

The best way to get results from McDonald's is to phone the actual restaurant that you visited. They have a central Customer Services phoneline, but each store has it's complaints monitored and managers are always eager to sort them out personally, rather than let it go to the complaints line. Also, they are more likely to have an idea of what's gone wrong than a customer service advisor in a call centre miles away!

For the phone numbers of restaurants, use the store locator
    http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/asp/locator/index.asp

Also, don't try a bogus complaint at McDonald's as the till system stores every order taken on an electronic journal!

I've had a night mare time with my amazon credit card, both from amazon not giving me points, and halifax (who back the card) halifax won't deal with the amazon points issue as it's nothing to do with them, so i wrote to both complaining about a huge list of problems including the points.
halifax gave me £30 and almost an apology - amazon so far have ignored me.
a few years ago i had trouble with my halifax back account, wrote a complaint letter and got £20 they seem to be quite good for that.

I also wrote to asda complaining about their lack of continuity with voucher acceptance policy, and asked they give me the official version so i can take it shopping with me and save any future embarasment - so far they've ignored me to
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Had some nasty 'fizzy' tasting fermenting yoghurt from Rachel's Organic (Greek Style with Honey). Fired off quick e-mail from their own generic 'contact us form' facility on their website. I received really lovely personal letter explaining problems with their honey suppliers and £3 worth of vouchers - arrived on my door step 3 days after I made the inital compliant - pretty impressive customer service!!

    Don't do this!!

I once complained to Terry's Chocolate Orange because the Chocolate Orange I received as a present had all white marks all over it and it looked really unappetising. They were great and sent me a voucher to buy a large box of Chocolates! I was sooo happy....

I took the voucher to Sainsbury's, I got it out of my purse to check which size box I was entitled to and put the lovely box of chocs in my basket then I went to the checkout... Only to discover that I no longer had the voucher with me! I retraced my steps & searched the aisles but I never found it again and had to put my chocolates back on the shelf (no longer had the excuse to buy them!) Obviously I was never meant to have those chocolates! :(

I complained about a hotel in Manchester when the inside window fell in in the morning. They gave me one night for free, I told them, make it at least two or would be contacting my solicitor. AT the time, I felt a bit empowered, but if it were now, I would have demanded another weekend with dinner etc...

ALso complained to royal mail lots, and got money back.. once got money back twice.. lol

Last week I bought a multi pack of Discos from Farmfoods.

The pack had not been tampered with, but inside there was a completely empty packet (it had to be the beef ones that everybody likes).

I sent a letter to them with my receipt and the empty pack and yesterday got a nice letter and a voucher for £3.

Took it to Farmfoods yesterday to get more crisps and they hummed and hawed...."Don't know if we can accept this"......"No date on this".

Meanwhile large queue forming. Eventually she shouts on someone else to check this voucher (me getting redder and redder).:o To be told ok we will take it.

Maybe if I'd taken it to one of the other supermarkets it would not have been a problem.

Birds eye- in frozen peas once found a stalk off the pod (well it got stuck in my throat and I coughed it up lol) so I just sent it back to them telling them what happend and got £15 cheque

Walkers- nearly the same as the peas (i think i eat too fast ) anyway this time I didn't know what the thing was that got stuck in my throat but i sent it back anyway and in my reply they said that they had sent the "foreign object" for testing and it turned out it was part of a potato root.. and sent me a postal order for £10

Amazon- I was having a very indecicive day I orded two books and a game, then I decided I was going to go into town the next day and could get them quicker there so canceled my order, then I decided in fact I couldn't be bothered to go into town and reorded them, then I was talking to a friend later who said she would lend me those books so I canceled them and just left the game.

So a couple of days later Mr Postman comes with a 3 packages, in one was the two books and game that i canceled, in the second was the two books and a game that I canceled (again) and in the 3rd was just the game (which i orded)

so anyway I told them about the two packages I didn't order (because they were cancelled) and they said sorry could I please return to this free post address, They also sent me two codes for £10 gift vouchers so i got £20 for returning the 2 packages and any incovienience, then I got 2 seperate cheques (both the cost of the two books and game) with notes saying sorry for sending me for the things that I canceled ..but..they never actually did charge me for them, all very strage, they did say that they were updating the databases the night that I orded.. anywho i didn't cash them and waited to see if they would charge me and they didn't lol, I've been trying to ask if the cheques are an error aswell or if they are some kind of compo and they said they are a refund so since i wont be being refunded by cashing them i'm not going to.

I did think about writing a letter complaining about how they are trying to give me loads of money by mistake :rotfl:
