these people do not use chip and pin, as i gave my card the assistant took it out of view, i asked her to keep it where i can see it, she messes under the counter sorting bags whilst the transaction went thru, she tutted at me, anyway i went to customer services said for all i know the assistant could of skimmed by card, i took all £40's worth of shopping back and said i do not want it and i want to make an official complaint, and that as for as long as i live i will never shop their again ,nor will my family -a manager came down i discussed this with him, said i do not expect rude staff, ok i did put it on a bit but the staff did tutt and they should be told not to naff off with customers cards, the manager gave me a £10 gift voucher and said would that help to rectify things, i said ok obviously:mad: blah bling blah0

vippymini wrote:As there are so many complainers here . has anyone got a good template letter to use for complaing?
i got to write to mcdonalds as the last 3 times my order is wrong as i dont always check while im there ..you do try to trust them . so i go home . problem is its a 2 mile drive each way . and not funny when you got a hungrey family
any tips please
Going back to the message by vippymini, i wouldn't bother wasting your time complaining to Macdonalds. I recently sent them a complaint via their website regarding a restaurant. I told them the staff are disorganised, management is appauling, burgers are burnt, buns are stale, large fries are only quarter full, soft drinks are always flat and how can you advertise the double cheeseburger on the pound saver menu when it costs you £1.20, thats like going into the pound shop and being charge £1.20 for something. Anyway i got a reply saying sorry and thats it who cares if your sorry people want something in return for poor service provided by a multi million pound corporation. I reakon everyone should refuse to go to macdonalds and force them to close down. That will teach them to try and sell us poor quality food. If anyone else has had better luck complaining to them let me know i might give it another go if there is something in it for me.0 -
No - but it should be moved to another boardI went to a club in Brighton once where the barman served me a bottle of Bacardi Breezer that had the rimtop smashed - I took a sip without realising and luckily noticed the smashed glass before any harm was done.
I mentioned to a friend a few days later and she suggested I write and complain - good thing I followed her advice - I got 10 free entrance tickets to the club. I then went on a date on a Wednesday with a great guy and asked him along to the same club on the Saturday with some friends so we could get to know eachother better.... we did... and now we've been married 2 years - hooray for complaints letters!!!
Also - Seeboard recently tried to sting us for a one off £850 bill that was mostly due to a faulty meter (even though we made our normal monthly payments). We complained to them via letter, then when their response was unhelpful, we complained to Energywatch. We got the bill reduced to £250!!!
My OH once took money from a ATM (£150) and it did not pay out but debiited his account - they denied and said it must have been taken out. We pursued it (as no way were we going to lose that money) and they refunded £150.
These are the only 3 complaint letters I have ever written (am now 30) and every one has worked - once in a while it just has to be done ;o)MFW #185

I'm crap at writing letters and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direct.
I've got the Buffy Box set on VHS and there is an episode towards the end that shouldn't be there and the episode listing on the box (both the video and boxset box) is wrong. These videos are old and we've only just watched as kept them as collectors items until we got bored and watched. Does anyone think FOX Uk will do anything if I write to them ? All the videos/box's are orginals/
I've also got the last season of angel on DVD and they refer to Wolfram and Hart (all Angel fans will know what I'm on about) is on the box set as Wolfman and Hart ?!! Once again, if I write to FOX UK, do you think they'll do anything ?
If you think I've got a case to write, does anyone know where I'd need to write to and any ideas / online help for writing complaint letters ?
Any help appreciated,
Thanks :O)0 -
NoTwo great experiences of fantastic customer service after something has gone wrong:
Went to the Pitcher & Piano in Nottingham for a meal with a friend. On EVERY table was a sign saying 'Specials,' one of which was 'NUS Offer Pitcher of Coctail for £10 Sun-Wed.' This was on a Sunday and as my friend was a student we thought this was a very good offer (coctails are usually £5 each in there). We tried to order this , but were told that that offer was no longer available - it had just changed and they hadn't had time to replace the signs. We were a bit miffed, but ordered separate cocktails anyway. We then looked at the menu to order our food and on the back it said 'How are we doing? Text us on: 07xxx xxxxxx).' I did this, complaining about the misleading signage. I received an apologetic text message back within 10 minutes, and a few seconds later the manageress came over to apologise in person and give us a pitcher of coctail for free! Would definitely go back now.
Also, a couple of years ago, I bought a couple of Boots No.7 products for my mum. At the time there was a special offer on that if you spent over a certain amount you got a free limited edition nail polish. At the till I asked for this and was told that the products I was buying weren't eligible. I accepted this and paid. When I got home my mum gave me the cash for the products and said I could keep the free nail polish. I told her I hadn't got it on those products and she said that wasn't right as she'd got some the previous week in a different Boots. She rang up the manager to complain. It actually turned out that that member of staff was dishonest and had been pocketing the free nail varnishes of loads of customers for herself! The manager wrote to thank me for helping this come to light, apologised for the problem and gave me the free nail varnish and £25 in vouchers!
Having said that, whilst I am always in favour of complaining for genuine problems, I do also write/email and give positive feedback when I receive good service..0 -
No - but it should be moved to another boardPitcher and Piano are fab!
We were out in central London with our baby and asked the doorman if they admit children and he said yes, all night ..this was around 6.50pm..
we ordered drinks and food and then the manager came over, really apologetic and said sorry but our childrens license is only until 7pm...she said she'd let us finish our drinks, assured us there was no need to rush and went to cancel and sort a refund for the food.
She came back with a full refund for the food and the drinks (for 7 people this was a fair bit of money!) and a £20 gift voucher..
I was delighted!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -

They had mistakely put me on some sort of regular payment scheme when I moved house and even though I was paying my bills within days of receiving them they were sending me quite nasty letters saying they would be refering me to their debt collection people for not making regular payments (even though I had never agreed to do this.)
Anyway, I wrote a letter of complaint last quarter and received a £20 credit on my account and a letter apologising for there error assuring me it had all been sorted out. Well this quarter - a letter arrives saying yet again they are going to refer me to the debt collection agency for not making regular payments, (I had again paid my bill within days of receiving it.) I wrote another letter and hey presto - received a CHEQUE for £50!!
I seem to be on a bit of a money spinner but I thought I would save myself any future hassle and switched to Powergen last week (using the MSE link earning £12.50 cashback) and in the post today received 3 diff types of energy saving light bulbs and a yr's supply of carbon monoxide detectors from Powergen. Here's to a long and happy relationship!
Ooh, we had loads of trouble with NPower, suddenly sent us a bill for £650 because they had been reading our meter wrong for 5 years. Then took the whole lot from my account as a direct debit when I had arranged to pay monthly. We got £50 from Energywatch too - but I would NEVER deal with NPower again, how RUDE are they!MSE GBBO 2015 - Go Alvin!0 -

I presume you're talking about Season 7 box set one, where Potential is the last ep on video three instead of Showtime? This was a problem with all the box sets when they were first released, Fox did offer at the time to replace them for anyone who wanted the correct episodes, though Showtime and Potential were both added to the video one of box set two to make up for the error (for people like me who didn't want to trade them I guess) Try writing to Fox and they should still replace it for you, seeing as they did at the time of release.

No - but the title needs to changeThis morning i phoned the head office of a well known bakers, to tell them i was disgusted at the staff's lack of hygiene ie) wearing dirty uniforms, not wearing gloves when making sandwiches, licking their fingers to open carrier bags etc, and he apologised and said he would send me some vouchers to compensate me!!
Can't really work that one out....why would i want to spend vouchers in a place that i'd just reported for being unhygienic?!!I'd rather have had a cheque!! :rotfl:
