I complained to Harvester recently... I took dd there for her birthday and it was such a let down and embarassment for me.

The food took about 55 minutes to arrive, it's not like they were rushed off their feet with customers!! And when it arrived, the rice and chicken breasts were all burned, and turned over on the 'good' side!!

The manager called yesterday and said she'd like to invite me back for a free meal on the restaurant, however, I didn't clarify if she meant me alone, or the entire party who were let down.... In any case, I'll definitely be bringing my daughter and will expect her to get a free meal too!

It was a good result, though, the manager was polite and apologised and said 'England were probably playing, so we probably were understaffed' Er, no, England weren't playing that day!

thanks for this thread, I wasn't sure what it was about due to the title, but I have been inspired to send a compliment email to McDonalds for a visit last week that was the best I have ever had in McDonalds (staff nice, friendly, helpful, food edible!!). I don't think I'll get any freebies, but I'm pleased I did and hopefully the member of staff will get a thanks too?

Will definitely be sending more complaint/compliment letters in the future as well.

I'm always calling Tesco to complain about their missing items, or late/non existent delivery and just the other week, I got a perfect delivery.

I made sure I called customer services, and the guy was SO shocked and kept saying it will be noted and he was so happy to get my call as he's just had angry customers all morning! I felt bad for him.

Whenever I call, I make sure I take any emotions out of it, afterall, it's hardly the customer service advisers fault!

I have misxed views on this thread.

It is important in that it gives encouragement to complain when things do go wrong.
Unfortunately, there are people out there who are after a quick buck/freebie and are prepared to go to fraudulent lengths to get them and this thread could fuel that too.
Not sure what the answer is......

I wrote to St Ivel once about a tub of potato salad which was off as soon as I bought it way before the sell by date and was sent a hamper full of their products.

I've written to One Railway several times about train journeys which go wrong. To get to my boyfriends I have to take 3 trains and there should be 10 minute connection times between the trains. But more often than not there is some kind of hold up on one of the trains so it knocks all the others out of cinque. If you arrive at your destination more than 30 minutes late and it's their fault and not yours you are entitled to a full refund. Once it took me 7 hours to do what is usually a 2 and a half hour journey.

I've also written to National Express about a really rude driver who was insulting people on the coach, accused me of being a terrorist just because I was wearing a back pack, was telling elderly people to get a move on and everything. Then when I got to my destination he wouldn't get my luggage out of the compartment because it was a back pack and wouldnt let me get it out incase I tampered with the luggage compartment. So I had to get another bus to the lost luggage area of Victoria Coach station. I got my money back from that journey too.

I bought some El Paso tortilla wraps and a couple of them had spots of mould on them even though they were not out of date and the seal was not broken.
I rang the 0800 help line on pack and they sent me a bag to return them and also gave me £15 vouchers off a grocery shop.

I have been on the recieving end of someone complaining about me unjustly and it is the most horrid experience. I had 2 women say I was rude to them while I worked in ASDA and they were very nasty about it and I was told off for something I hadn't even done and I was extreemly upset. So just think of the person you are getting into trouble before complaining about stupid insignificant things because everybody makes mistakes and has bad days. At the end of the day, nothing is free, compensation is paid for in the end by the consumer and while there are genuine cases for bad service etc, does it hurt to be a little more tollerant and imagine yourself in someone elses shoes for a change.

To be honest i think your out of order morally because i cannot agree with complaining for stuff that happened years ago or didnt happen many companies will ask for batch number etc or the product to be returned to them for investigation and i somehow doubt you will still have the product

    l:rotfl:
So you think we should start a thread for that?:T :T :T :T :T :T :T joke- mse manager!;) Also aint being a mistress morally wrong?
If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.

Think this is a very vaild point. Would hope people don't just make stuff up to get freebies. Although if you do have a real problem then think u have every right to complain as finding things in food which shouldn't be there is nasty. Plus giving feedback must help improve things for others if there is a faulty batch then it can be re called
