I take a Beaver Scout Colony and managed to pick up 21 Harry Potter Quiddich Games (I think they were originally about £15-£20 each) which I put away for their christmas presents. Anyway, when I went to pay for them they had another third off so I got each game for 66p.

After the Christmas party one wee boy's dad told me the "balls" were missing from his son's game.

I e-mailed Mattell explaining how I had bought them in Boots' at such a bargain price five months earlier so obviously couldn't take it back so would it be possible to buy replacement parts from them. They called me the next day to say that the game was now discontinued so they didn't have any spares but just to have a look through their website and choose any game I wanted and they would send it to me. When I asked if they wanted me to return the quiddich game they told me I could just keep it.

The wee boy chose a brand new Robots game (which was selling for £18 on Amazon) and they sent it Special Delivery so he had it the next day.

Not bad for an inital 66p purchase and full marks for Mattell for their Customer Service.

Like people have said earlier - it is best to be honest as in my case it still worked out well.
    Thanks for this post, Anic.
My daughter bought a game from her school fete last weekend. When she got it home half the pieces were missing. She was so upset and couldn't understand why it had happened (she has ASD). After reading your post, I emailed the game's manafacturers, and told them the story. I asked if they had any spare parts I could buy and they replied saying that they will be happy to send her the replacement pieces.

Why???? How many times Have you not complained???? I personally Think this is the ultimate consumer revenge thread!!!!!:money: don't really care if Lisa/any1 else likes it or not........ All I'm gunna do is backdate things, all the stuff i never spoke up about. i ain't just gunna write to any old company.

Hope this helps some of the moaners on this thread... check the vote at posting time folk seem happy to let it run. What's the worst that will happen? company's will look more closely at claims thats all.-We're keeping them on there toes.:money: :money: :money: money saver is the name of this site and i think getting stuff for FA is well in keeping with the sites name and reputation.
I think this thread is great! I just don't think people should take the p*ss as it appears you are going to no matter what you say. I'm a retail manager and deal with customer problems quite often (not too often!) and it is always easy (for me) to tell when someone is being genuine and has an honest problem and is looking for a reasonable solution or is purely 'on the make; and being totally unreasonable and just on the look out for what they can get.
I recently had a man in my store who complained that he had badly scratched his 'new £600' leather jacket on a display stand. The stand in question had no sharp edges or corners and had been in position for a long time with no problems before. The man tried to tell me that a long scratch on his coat had been caused by 'our shops negligence' and he wanted compensation (did he expect a hand out from the till?!). The man managed to upset 2 members of staff with his aggression until he finally started on me. I asked him to show me the mark on his coat and on which part of the stand he had caught it and he showed me a scratch on his coat (one of many!) His wife then came over saying that it wasn't that scratch it was another one and that I was giving them attitude when all they wanted was compensation. The man then couldn't tell me where he'd caught his coat and I was beginning to lose patience with him. I then told him that to solve it we would review the security footage from the shop and see exactly what had happened, at which point he made a hasty retreat making excuses that he was late for an appointment! Needless to say on the security footage he hadn't even been near the stand in question and was simply 'on the make'.
So I guess you'll have to excuse me for having no tolerance for THAT kind of behavior.
If you have a genuine issue then complain by all means, I do, I expect certain standards but be reasonable with it, sometimes things do go wrong and as long as you state your case (if genuine) clearly and honestly most companies will try to solve your problems.
However, as a lot of people are pointing out (and I tend to agree) that if any of the above mentioned companies start getting a lot of similar complaints because they appear to compensate well then they are going to make is harder for GENUINE people to get anywhere with their complaints.
And that is all I have to say on that matter.

Scaldyflash, can you give me contact info for Daewoo - I tried to find their info on the web when our vacuum packed in but gave up. I'd like to contact them though to see what they have to say. Thanks very much!

Generally I don't complain about small stuff (last bag of crisps sealed to bag, odd bag of soft crisps etc) as its not a big deal to me but I 've just written to Tesco complaining about the staff at my local store as one of them called me thief in front of lots of other customers for trying to redeem coupons (for products I had bought). £145 shop with about £4 worth of coupons so it wasn't that unreasonable especially as I had bought the products.

tbh I don't care if anyone thinks I'm greedy or expecting too much but I do expect a reasonable response from tesco and some vouchers as I was mortified,it was embarassing, upsetting and totally unnessesary.

After the way i was treated i'll be complaining to them over the slightest thing in future. Wish i could change shop but they're too convienient and I can't afford Waitrose.

Well done to everyone who has complained over genuine greivences and got a good response. I think that the way a company follows up on a complaint is very indicative of its attitude towards the customer.

I recently wrote to the customer services dept of Sainsburys complimenting them on a member of staff at the small local store, how pleasant and helpful she was and how nice it was to be greated by her, credit to the store and asking for my thanks to be passed on via store manager. I had a lovely letter back thanking me for the trouble and telling me she had been rewarded for her efforts.

I stayed in Center Parks and there was a really nasty poop stain on the bed sheet that still smelt. Even though it had been washed there were a few "crusts" (sorry but it is essential to my tail) and it was gross. Not a very big stain but a stain none the less and I was none too amused at having to handle someones crappy sheets (yuk). I phoned their housekeeping and they practically flew over all apologetic.

I got 2 free spa vouchers (worth 27.50 each) and £50 gift vouchers. Manager was eyeing my 4yr old suspiciously but there is no way it was him because the stain was on the sheets under the duvet and it had clearly been washed and was crusty and we had only just unpacked.

Lewt - the way you are planning to do things is not moneysaving.

You are hoping to gain something for nothing.

That is not moneysaving. Its taking the pi$$.

That is not what this site is about.

Wev complained loads of times all genuine problems.
Warburtons bakery a while ago top of the loaf was burnt and on another occasion the bottom of the load had black bits in it due to a dirty tin. They sent a truck round each time with a tray of bread all diferent types and another tray of all the other products they sold, I think they now just send vouchers.
Reciently Harry ramsdens in Salford the service was poor infact after waiting 25 minutes before even having the drinks order taken we walked out we had waited 10 minutes before someone came to see us and seat us, we received £15 of vouchers. good but when you see they charge a fortune for fish and chips it doesnt go very far and the salford one isnt that nice we wnt be going back as the food was really bad the chipps had been reheated in the fryer we didnt complain again as we didnt want any more vouchers.
KFC and Mcdonalds wrong oders on drive through phone them up leave your postcode and you get a free meal next time bit poor when normally your missing somthing other then fries but free food is free food. I usually check the orders there and end up going back but sometimes I donbt and always end up phoning them.
Problem with the stand on a TV bought from one of the electrcal stores currys or comet went back no more left the damage wasnt noticable when the stand was together they gave us £50 back.
A freind bought a Dell pc earlier in the week, a few days later they droped the price so he phoned them up trying to get the same price, they refuded £50 but he could have had a full refund and buy the pc again at the new price.

If you or the relevant authorities can prove I'm breaking the law, crack on and take me court......... Init???

To be honest i think your out of order morally because i cannot agree with complaining for stuff that happened years ago or didnt happen many companies will ask for batch number etc or the product to be returned to them for investigation and i somehow doubt you will still have the product.

I also think you are giving us moneySAVERS (not grabbers) a bad name by just trying to gain through wat these ppl have been talking about. This is my PERSONAL opinion and i am ENTITLED to it ;)

Myself i have had a few probs with huggies nappies not having any sticky tabs on them or the tabs rip off whilst i'm putting the nappie on. They are quite good with replying to emails.:D

I have had a few probs with sainsburys such as weird tasting custard and slimy salad i never complain for gain but i do think companies need to know if a product fails just incase someone else has the same problem, i also think they need to know when they are doing great so they can keep the good work up lol:rotfl:
