I complain because I think it is very important to stand up for my rights as a comsumer, if I keep quite it won’t encourage them to change. I don’t always get ‘free stuff’ and I can honestly say I don’t expect it all the time, it depends on why I am writing.

Odeon Cinemas – I wrote and complaint because their surround system didn’t appear to be working and I wasn’t warned before hand. I felt it ruined my experience of the film, we left before the end because we couldn’t hear everything. Was sent apologies and 2 free tickets to try again.

A cinema in Australia – we went to a cinema in Cannes and half way through the film, it stopped, then started, then lost sound for about 5 minutes. Complained and got free tickets.

Vue Cinema – Booked tickets to see James Bond a few years ago, booked about 2 months in advance only to arrive on the night to find they had double booked every seat so it was first come first served. Needless to say we were sent away and were told to write for a refund! I got my refund after several months of waiting.

Jelly Tots – I love Jelly tots and had them for the first time in years, I paid 50p which I thought was quite expensive, to find that there were only eleven inside! I wrote to rowntree as I thought it was quite bad and they sent me a cheque for £2. I brought more Jelly Tots which were lovely.

Proctor & Gamble – I brought some head and shoulders only to find they had changed the ingredients, so much so it brought on a really bad bout of my eczema (something I try very hard to avoid so I am very careful about the products I use), They sent me £5 voucher which I spent on another bottle (smooth & soothing-I think) and its brilliant.

Tesco – other than telling them what they’ve forgotten and getting a full refund (pre-multibuy discounts), I recently wrote to complaint about waiting in all day for a Direct delivery which never showed, they refunded my premium delivery charge, full order (pr!!!!!!!!!!! used), then sent me a voucher for £10 in the post. Can’t say fairer than that.

Asda – write to them to complaint about their recent change in packaging, it was very very similar to another version of the same product, so I managed I picked up the wrong thing. I specially asked not to be compensated – just for them to reconsider their choice. I just thought it I could make this mistake then other potentially could to.

Asda – I brought some own brand mint kitkats and found no wafers in any of them. I was sent a voucher for the cost of the product.

Etam – they took 4 months to take the money from my card, which really annoyed me as I had closed my credit account, and their payment reopened it. They sent me a £10 voucher as an apology.

Asda Home Delivery - 1 order had 2 bags worth of shopping missing, had to ring cust services to get refund and buy items elsewhere.
Then the next orders total was calculated wrong and they were going to charge 689.00 to my card for a 64.00 shop!
I complained by email (saves a postage stamp) and got a £10 e voucher to spend onmy next shop, not bad ehh.

I have to add though a few years ago i bought a leather 2 piece suit from argos after a year it broke, so i rang and complained that a sofa costing £700 should really last more than a year, they sent someone to try to fix it, when he couldnt they said they'd send me a new one, i couldnt believe my luck when they turned up with a whole new 2 piece set to swap! I thought they were only replacing the 1. :rotfl:

A few years ago (im 19 now) I was digsusted to see a toy by Hasbro called 'Wedgie', which was a doll where you pulled its pants - to create a wedgie and it screamed. It was advertised as some kind of fun joke, and for ages 5+ or something. My younger brother was bullied at school and the kids once did this to him, causing him damage and he had to go to the docs/hospital or whatever. I talked to my Mum about it and we wrote a complaint email together saying it promoted bullying, as kids would think it was some kind of joke. We got an email back saying they had researched it fully but had a number of complaints and were considering withdrawing it (i dont know if they did) but we got a box of Hasbro toys (not a wedgie in sight!) worth well over £70. We gave them to the even younger bro and sis for Christmas. We didn't expect any kind of gift! Result!

I emailed Shreddies a few years ago also as I was bullied at school and was really upset at the time to see the Shreddies - Too Tasty for Geeks campaign. The boy in the cartoon was hard working, wore glasses, had ginger hair and wonky teeth, stupid stereotypes! Argh I emailed to complain and got a message back saying they had fully researched everything and children enjoyed the adverts, no present or anything, just basically told to get lost :(

You think companies for children would show some sensitivity towards serious issues like this rather than promoting it?!

Gü were really good when we complained. We'd bought the little chocolate pots and they were actually lemon! So my dad wrote a letter and sent them back to Gü and we got £10 M&S vouchers and a pack of Gü liquid caramels in return which were sooo nice! So thumbs up for their customer service.

Does anyone know either the address to complain to Superdrug or Signature? I bought a signature smoothie maker there a few weeks ago and plugged it in the other day, it doesn't work and there are no addresses stated on it to write to the manufacturer.

So disappointed as I'd been wanting a smoothie maker for 2 years, should've known better I guess.

Can't help with the address but this reminds me of when my mum complained to Superdrug once cos one of the sachets in a box of chocolate drinks was empty. They gave her vouchers which had to be used in Superdrug. Well when she went to the till to spend the vouchers the checkout girl looked at them and said "We don't accept these vouchers!" My Mum explained that she had been sent them by Superdrug but the girl still called for a supervisor to authorise it!! :rotfl:
I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
