NoHi All
I wonder if anyone got a cheque from a train company, not vouchers?
there was a problem with trains in Hull and insead of having one smooth trip, we ended up having to change (and run) back to the original train as well as arriving over 2 hours late. I've paid 64 pounds for two single tickets and i suspect i will get some voucher offeres back. But i would like cash, and for the full price - can i demand this?0 -
NoAs there are so many complainers here . has anyone got a good template letter to use for complaing?
i got to write to mcdonalds as the last 3 times my order is wrong as i dont always check while im there ..you do try to trust them . so i go home . problem is its a 2 mile drive each way . and not funny when you got a hungrey family
any tips please
I used to work for maccy d's and i am telling you now i would be very suprised if you get anything out of them for a wrong order - they are rubbish! we used to have to tell people like yourself that they should check their order and call us from home if it is wrong immediately, or come back through the drive through.
I have personally since had some poor experiences dining in maccy d's and always find the best policy is to make a complaint to the general manager on duty, and talk very loud - it makes them embarrassed into giving you freebies yeyee!0 -
Noi have had several freebies through complaining and if anyone would like any tips let me know haha!
- free full meal in maccy d's (chicken selects were grey instead of white meat, coffee was like water, fizzy instead of flat fanta, and deli sandwich on brown instead of white - how dumb can you get @ south shields branch)
- free pair of shoes from Garage, complained about the service i received when i tried to exchange a pair of shoes and they refused
- free upgrade (worth £200) plus free Samsung D840 from Orange for messing up my account on several occasions
- free pizza hut vouchers for shocking conditions at local store (no hand soap, blocked toilets, out of order hand dryer, cold starter, burnt pizza [think they were getting me back for complaining about undercooked starter!])
- damage to car on tesco forecourt, complained and got vouchers for store / petrol
- customer service @ sky - received goodies and one month free bill
- waited 6 weeks for bank card from abbey when opened a new account, due to delays they were having in admin, meant i had to walk to branch during work hours to withdraw money - credit of £50 to my account
the list goes on... and like many others on here have specified, if you have received poor service then complain... i have worked in customer service for a long time now, and never have i had a complaint - so there's really no acceptable excuse!
good luck :-)0 -
Noi could scan and email you a letter to pizza hut if you would like me to?0

I complained to Northern Rail a few days ago as they displayed the wrong platform on their screens meaning I missed my train as I was waiting in the wrong place (they obviously updated it at some point but never annouced it over the speaker so I had no idea!) - and yesterday I received a free 'unlimited travel' one day pass for their network, which is pretty good as the two tickets I included in my letter were only a few pounds each, and next weekend I'll be wanting to make a journey that will cost much more than that. Good result - I always find train companies are worth complaining to, I don't think I've ever not received a voucher of some description from either Northern or Virgin (the only two I've written to). And I complain a lot - not just because I want freebies but because the trains are generally so awful I experience problems about 90% of the time!0

NoI work in customer services and if we receive a firm but polite complaint they are dealt with more sympathetically than rude, abusive ones which are obviously from people who complain about everything. However, as a company we also "thank people who thank us". After all, it's nice to be nice.
Nobody should put up with poor service or goods so you should always say if you're unhappy or feel let down with something.
On occassion i've needed to complain. A few years ago my daughter had a dolls castle which had parts broken or were moulded incorrectly. After I returned it to them they sent another castle from the latest range which was 3 times the price! They didn't apologise for any inconvenience though which is the point of complaining - to be heard and acknowledged0 -
NoWrote to a company to inform them the sudoku book I purchased had puzzles with duplicate numbers in (therefore unable to complete the puzzles). Just received a lovely letter with two more books and a pack of pens.
Success.
My letter was polite BTW.[STRIKE]30:22[/STRIKE]

I have written to tesco before about their nappy sacks and received a £2 giftcard, although have just shot off another letter to them about their fridge magnets having no magnets in!!
Also wrote a compliment email to Huggies and received instant response saying i was getting vouchers in the post! Will wait and see what i get.0
