it must be all BMWs surely, ive seen loads stuck in even rubbish bits of snow that are easy for other cars to get past.
or is it just that BMW drivers really haven't got a clue how to drive on snow or ice. (or in any conditions for that matter!)

Think it might be that they are often quite sporty, powerful cars which send a lot of torque to the rear wheels, which have very thin tyres. All the above not leading to good snow performance.0

well the ejit in an Audi a3 who was weaving in and out of traffic and overtaking everyone on my way to work this morning could certainly win a prize for worst driver I've ever seen, what a ****Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

I'd hate to have a Lexus in this weather - it's made it interesting at work... :rotfl:Genie

The problem with BMWs are that in this country even the most basic models are specced with the phattest alloys and ultra low profile tyres. This is because "generally" impressing the neighbours in the UK is more important than the cloth interior. The Europeans think differently. They would rather have a 520d with steel wheels and a leather interior because that is what they will see rather than be seen.
Remember the BMW ads a decade ago promising how good their traction control would be in the snow? Chocolate fireguard more like. The man without a signature.0 -
BMW BMW BMW for worst
I use to have a gold mk5 1.4 TSI, brilliant car in snow. Has snow mode which is brilliant, just press that and sorted(most of the time). I never got stuck in snow with this last year in france. I have a BMW and i get stuck all the time, i got stuck on a straight road so many times. I cant believe the car cannot handle a straight road!0 -
I reckon my Caterham is probably worse than a Beemer in the snow. Very low weight + rear wheel drive = zero traction + lots of sideways action (in a scary "which ditch am I going into" way, rather than a "tail-out on roundabouts, wahey!" kind of way)0

its all down to how much of a !!!!! or idiot the driver is really + the quality of the tyres0

My £500 banger can get me to work in the morning and my parents much more expensive (BMW and a Merc) cars can't. I think BMW and Merc are just as bad as each other, its been impossible to get them off the drive most mornings (with or without traction control) without a shovel, but my old front wheel drive car just drives straight over the ice and snow and away.0

Well, out of the all the cars I've been moving this week at work - the worst ones to !!!!! have been the RWD ones. BMw and Lexus's...0
