Oh, I'm too early. Hope it goes well. I saw 5 places and some of them were just awful, and really bad for the money they were asking. I like the one I'm taking though, and fingers crossed, everything will go smoothly and I get my old room rented soon and can move to better things.

Im in a right foul mood, house wasnt any good anyway due to size of living room and for the money, overpriced, but dh has done my head in.
Just had a rant on the 15k thread but im just really peeved with my life right now.
Hubby and I are on totally different wave lengths and im just really fed up of my life.

  • Hi CAFCGirl, I've been lurking on the Paper Hat thread so thought I would finally come out and post on your new diary!

Just wanted to say keep your chin up and I think you're doing amazingly well. :A
This part of settling somewhere new, getting jobs etc is hard work but it will all be worth it when you have a lovely home for your family, OH is working in a job he really enjoys and you can concentrate on the littlun.

I do sympathise because Mr White & I moved to Australia a few years back having decided that we weren't unhappy with our life in the UK, but that if we didn't make a decision and take some action we would just drift on to old age without ever having gone off and had an adventure!

We arrived here with just a suitcase each, didn't know anyone, had never been here before and didn't know what or where anything was. 5 years later I have a job I'm happier in than any job I've ever had (although to be fair that's only been in the last few months, prior to that it was a bit hit and miss!), OH is also loving his job, we are building a new home and this year we are going to start trying for a baby (I'm 33 so had better get on with it!)

It will all come together for you too, it might just take a bit of time.

PS I'm a Southerner, but OH is a Geordie so we lived in Newcastle before we came to Melbourne! Melbourne is a beautiful city but I really loved living in Newcastle, and also despite everything we have here, I miss home and our families and friends pretty much every day. So I know it's easy for me to say, but try to make the most of sharing with your sister while you're there!
