hey hun, ur story sounds just very like my own 6yrs ago.
i was in a lot of debt at the time, around £30k, my partner at the time was always taking about going into business but never got off his lazy bum. i couldnt work due to ill health in pregnancy and could no longer afford out rent so was kicked out. knew nothing about benefits till after i had my first daughter. managed to find a small house and most of the rent was paid by housing benefit. i must admit i hated living like that. not working for my own money.
my partner was still in dream land and kept telling me it would work out etc. 2 yrs and another baby later i decided enough was enough and went back to college to do the job id always wanted. after many things went on with my partner i finally left him, got a job and started chipping away at my debt. then just over 2 yrs ago i met my husband. he has a good job and provides for me and my children. we're desperate to have a baby together, but after 5 miscarriages im wondering if its ever going to happen.
im almost debt free now and my savings are more than i owe.
after going through a tough time i now appreciate everything ive got now so much more. hopefully i'll never be in that situation again but if i am i'll deal with it.
sorry for the long post, i wish u every success and happiness. hope ur hubby gets into the fire service and u get a house sorted before ur precious baby comes. im so jealous. lol.
good luck hun

Oh Jenny,
That was an amazing post and thankyou for sharing your story with me (and everyone else who reads)...
My heart goes out to you re the miscarriages. I suffered one with our first but I cant even begin to imagine how it must feel for you to go through 5.....
I understand how things like that shift perspective completely. I wont lie I still covet the finer things in life, and I know this journey is going to be hard, but I do have a lovely family, who are supportive and willing to help however they can but I also know that in order to truly learn and grow from all of it I've got to take the bull by the horns and face it head on..... Its just actually getting there which is hard!
Congratulations on your family and being almost debt free (now Im a little jealous!).....
We will all come out of the other side of what life may put in our path, if we choose to.
Im lucky that Hubby is slowly taking more responsibility and accepting the situation, and that it is noone else's responsibility but his to clear his debts.
Thanks again for your post and look forward to seeing some more posts from you in the future xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -

Hi, you sound a lot like me regarding the putting stuff off. I know I should do whatever it is but can always find something more interesting (and pointless) to do!
Good luck with the babyHope everything works out for you with the wages and the house soon

Hi Manc'
Tbh Ive got no idea why I spend so much time procrastinating!
Need to sort out a letter tomorrow to be posted on monday, and have an email to reply to tomorrow.
Been out this evening to somerfield to get some desired munchables... managed to behave myself with just some milky bar (had a cup of white hot choc earlier and it smelt just like it and i couldnt get it out of my head), and a pack of 6 creme eggs for 99p LOL
Oh and got DH something to have for dinner as well.
Tomorrow we'll go to morrissons and sort out our food for the week. Made veggie stew last week which went for two days and cost us about £1.10 to make so am very tempted to just do that again..... if the stew packs are still dirt cheap....Wealth is not measured by currency0
