I can't understand what you are trying to say here.
I have been insulted and verbally abused by non whites on plenty of occasions - but I still dont think i would call it rascism, sorry.
The definition I gave you doesn't help? It's not an opinion as to whether it's racist. It is a dictionary definition. If those people are verbally abusing you just because of the colour of your skin then it IS racism!
Someone help me out here...0 -
"Do explain how a white person can be racially abused, or is this not possible in this country??? I cannot believe you have just said that"

So what DO you call it? When you have been insulted and abused, has the colour of your skin been mentioned? If it has, it's racism. The definition I gave you doesn't help? Dont worry justcat you are right.
Chloe forgot to read the part of the OP which mentioned get out white !!!!!!!.
Now if they if said get out !!!!!!! then it wouldnt have been racist, but by saying white they are clearly using the colour of somones skin to remove them from the area!0 -
Chloe has gone now... I guess she realised she was wrong!
She is probably the one who said that kids can't sing baa baa black sheep anymore. I think people have the best of intentions but they are so worried about offending different cultures, they change the rules!0 -
this thread is so going to be locked by the time I wake up tomorrow...... :cool:when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it0

chloe had gone TO BED!!
Look, if I lived somewhere else, in non white country, where white people were routinely subjugated or insulted in some way (struggling to think of one that meets with these criteria), then that is racism.
Insults I might get in this country on account of being white are verbal abuse or maybe racial abuse depending what was said, not racism!
And I think the absense of baa baa black sheep, black board and firemen is utterly ridiculous!0 -
Rac-ism [rey-siz-uh
m]
–noun
1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
The people being racist don't need to have the upper hand.
Racism is in the most basic of forms, disliking someone purely because of the colour of their skin.

Based on the definition of Racism above, do you not consider what happened to the OP as Racism??My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0 -

The 2 bits highlighted in bold, what is the difference between those, in your opinion?
If you were walking in town, minding your own business, and 4 black youths called you a 'white b!tch', are you saying that they aren't being racist towards you?
What a strange view you have.:cool:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I'd like to jump in here and say that while I agree that anything using colour or creed against any person is racist. I think that maybe in Chloes case as per a lot of white people, we just aren't that sensitive and don't jump on the racist bandwagon at the slightest hint of a racist remark?
Example: In my cul de sac there is an Afro carribean family with four children, No problem with three of them, in fact my dd went to school with one of them. One of them is the same year as my ds2 and as soon as they started infants my ds2 said she had called him 'chalky' I told him it was because he had white skin (I had to say I thought it was amusing because it reminded me of a tv programme called Love thy Neighbour that was on when I was younger). I told him to take no notice of it. I don't know whether she did it to anyone else.
Fast forward to year 6 and she had been irrating him and some friends while they were playing football do he told her to 'go black home' (which he knew was wrong). We were contacted by the headteacher who said she had no option but to reprt him to the LEA. The school confirmed he had not been in this sort of trouble before, but that they were obligated to report EVERY incident of racism!
Over sensitive or what?0 -
The girl is what 10/11 years old? I don't see how she can be described as oversensitive.
Your son told you that he had been called Chalky likewise I assume she told the teachers what your son said and they followed up in line with their procedures.
As with many of these situations the problem lies with the policies, procedures etc not really with the girl IMO.0
