Great to hear the progress!!! :j :j :j :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Yes, I think they will, which is why I'm happy to go for it.
Going to spend the weekend on AQA, although I'm feeling a bit pooped today!0 -

Then shortening your term like this is not scarey in the slightest really.
You've done really well in terms of that.
Just be careful with the amount of AQA you do, not only is is quite a lot of time, but it's brain time which is pretty hard in the grand scheme of things...

Another day on AQA (I won't overdo it ZTD!)
It was SO windy last night! Woke up this morning to find my garden table upside down, the chairs on their sides, the patio heater blown over and a fence panel broken. None of the fence panels are concreted in so they aren't that stable in the wind.0 -
Phew, that was a close one.............I was soooo near then to spending about £82 on three pairs of shoes from OFFICE. There is a 35% off code on the voucher board and i've jut spent 10 minutes drooling over shoes.........
I even had them in the basket and the code entered.........

Weird day......well, not weird, but I fell a bit weird and uncertain....
car went back to the garage and should now (hopefully) be fixed. there was oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold thingy. £33 later I should be ok, but bit of a pain that it took two trips (and two cheques!)
Don't like Mondays anyway because I have to face telling the dragon what I'm doing for the week and then have her sneer at me whilst I tell her. I didn't sleep very well last night knowing I had my weekly meeting.
She has been mentioning a re-structuring for a while but told myself and the fundraising manager that she had proposals and we would get letters.
I've got the letter and basically I will definitely lose 50% of my job responsibility wise. The other 50% of my current job is, I think , going to become 100% of what I do each day.
Pay wise, as long as I don't lose my job completely, I will be protected. She didn't realise I'd had my salary sorted out, so I can't be touched (phew, talk about getting it sorted by the skin of my teeth!). There isn't anyone else doing the job, and I'm going to check with HR whether it can be advertised either internally or externally or whether I have to be moved automatically into the post.
My colleague who is on maternity leave and wants to come back part time is probably going to be out of a job. She didn't want to come back to work for the dragon, but won't get much redundancy money. They have to offer re-deployment (which maybe could affect me also?) but it depends on how much they want her out.

I dunno O_M, I know it feels weird and uncertain when things are changing and you don't know how they're going to go, but it sounds like your brain might get a much-needed break if you're going to have your job "simplified". In other words, 50% of the job for 100% of the (new) money sounds pretty good to me.
So what if the dragon thinks she's "getting one over" on you in some way by doing this? It sounds like just the breathing space you need, from my point of view. You're the one who'll come out a winner.
Keep plugging away; you're doing brilliantly (and I follow your diary nearly daily). You're an inspiration money-wise. You seem to get little or no support with it from people around you and yet you still keep doing the right thing. So good on you.
Take care,

anyway, back to reality.........
Tad windy last night.....thought I heard a loud bang....this will have to wait until the Spring money wise.......
cheers happyformonths.......I think I've got everything covered. As I'm on a new contract I can't have a pay cut even if i'm re-deployed. As long as over 50% of my current job description is in the new one I have to be automatically moved over on to the new post.
I've got the name of the union rep and i'm going to give him a ring tomorrow to see if he can attend, even if he is just there to listen.
If she finds a way of advertising the post (can't think how, but I bet she is thinking of ways) and I don't get it, I have to be offered two choices of re-deployment, and I can 'trial' each for up to three months - on the same salary. If I reject both re-deployment opportunities I will still get redundancy but it won't be much. I have 7 years service, but will only get a weeks salary per year of service.
Anyway, even if I get re-deployed that will take me way into next year and I will have time to start looking, although relevant jobs are few and far between in my neck of the woods......and then of course with the bullying I'd have a good case for constructive dismissal......and as I have a recognised condition with my back and work partly from home, I've been advised I would have a solid claim under the Disability at Work act..........I think I have the upper hand at the moment........and it feels quite good for a change........
thoughts of selling up and buying out right or virtually outright in the north with my equity still seem as appealing though........0
