i'm going to attempt cheesecake, cookies or pie next - or all three!! One pumpkin produces loads of flesh! You can have a portion of that as well if you like.
Some of the Asda stores are giving them away today. mine still has them at 20p each, so I've just popped in and bought 2 more. Reading the OS board, they keep for a year if the skin isn't bruised, so there is no rush to use them up.0 -
Well, here I am a 20 minutes past midnight on my own. Had the remaining 3/4 of a bottle of ASDA cheap plonk and a HM pizza. Got a freezer full of pumpkin soup and three more pumpkins sitting on top of the fridge. Sat for the evening under my faux fur throw watching X-Factor whilst keeping one eye on all the fireworks outside. I only have plain chocolates left in my posh box of choccies I opened last night. The evenings at the pub of a few years ago seem a distant memory (but they weren't DFW ones!)
Hit £100 so far for November with AQA tonight. Could have done more as it is busy but I decided to stop at the target I had set myself for hitting this weekend.
Going to spend tomorrow trawling through quidco picking up every 50p I can find (or every penny offered for signing up to newsletters etc).
Found a website that made me a bit sad. I was on the last series of Masterchef on the BBC. It was a 15 year ambition come true. I was knocked out by a contestant who left bones in her fish and choked a judge (I kid you not, they didn't show that bit on TV!). I was so upset for days as I am such a passionate cook.
The eventual winner has had a book published in the last few days and I'm licking my wounds a bit even though it is a year on from the filming. I'd love to have a cookery book of some type published.
Bit of a ramble there..........
On a totally different note, the MFI sale changes in a few days. I have £1150 of MFI/Tesco vouchers burning a hole in my pocket. I am determined to wait for a 30% sale before I get my new bedroom furniture. Might do a bit of window shopping tomorrow as they have a new range I like on the website but it isn't being reduced yet and I've not yet seen it 'for real'.0 -
Wow oakdale-minx:T.
I'm having a sleepless night and started reading your diary at 3am:eek:.
I have been sitting here all this time absolutely riveted by your story. You are an absolutely fantastic star and a real inspiration (although, in your modesty you probably won't believe me).
You deserve all the happiness in the world and I truly hope you get it. Well done.:grouphug:0 -
Minxy,
I have a brilliant recipe for Pumpkin pie-If you'd like just PM me. That soup looks GORGEOUS!
I have to drive automatic too-because I'm Canadian and my licence only transfers over as auto-I could do another test but frankly, it SCARES the pants off me! I do drive manual but never when I have the kids in the car (illegal) but if I need to use my husbands car.
I have a massive pumpkin we never managed to carve so I shall keep it until Christmas and make and freeze some soup and pies. Yum, can't WAIT!
I've been back on my diet for 3 days and have lost half a stone-only 2 more stone to go! lol
Hope you have a lovely Sunday,

On the car front, I took Mum and Dad to a car auction and they picked up a three year old Fiat Punto, with less than 11k miles on the clock for £3500. Not bad eh!
There were lots (and I mean lots) of older cars going for less than £500 - for £1500 you should get a fairly decent motor (they had lots of autos too). Some went for less than £100!
Have a look at British car auctions site to see if there is one nearby, get there early so you can spot the likely cars and bid early as they get pretty busy and the auctioneers do have plants in the audience who place bids to push up the prices (when its less busy, they have less chance of doing this).
Stick to your maximum and remember to add the auction charge on top plus vat (on the auction costs). Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

My current car is from the local auction. Bought it 3 and a half years ago for £400. Each MOT has only needed 1 tyre replacing!
It didn't want to start this morning (didn't on Friday either) and it has never not started - even in snow......I think it is sulking because I'm looking at other cars......0 -
Got paid this month's £400 from AQA . Going to hang on to it for the car MOT/patch up job or whatever the outcome of Friday is.
Well done on the diet Bunny - I need to sort my head out enough to get something done about my weight.
Went to my GP today as my neck is really swollen (any body lost two snooker balls? If so, they seem to be in my neck!) and he has given me some penicillin, I knew Ihad some kind of viral infection as my glands have beena bit sore, but I feel like I have two weights sellotaped to my neck!! (and the lumps are visible!).
I also got very brave and told him generally how I feel about life (not too long though, didn't want to bore him!!) and he has prescribed (unsurprisingly) some prozac for me. I have to re-visit him in 3 weeks at the end of surgery when he wants a longer talk. I mentioned the boss, my ex, AQA, the court charges, work ,my Masters degree and briefly my OH. It's been building for a very very very long time and I am hoping that the tablets will make me see (although I do already know) how low I am.
Anyway, happier things. Did a few quidco bits yesterday, need to go back and continue trawling through.
And boss has messed up big time on a very very important document....and she can't blame me one little bit.........:)0
