Hey O-M
This is my first post! I have been lurking for ages and today I took the plunge and registered, not sure why I have not done so before now but you have compelled me to register so I can reply to you!
I added your diary to my favourites ages ago and have been tuning in for updates whenever I get the chance. Your approach to life is so refreshing and sincere. I feel I know you! I just want to say you are great and you deserve to be happy in all areas of your life.
You have shown you are a winner with your success in your get rid of personal debt campaign. You have attacked your debt with such vigour its no wonder you have a handle on it and you are firmly in control again.
Now you have this success under your belt you need to tackle you well being with the same gusto - you have it in you luvvie and your well being so very important.
I too had a cruella who came with a faithful sidekick in a small office and I was constantly undermined & undervalued. My self esteem/confidence just plummetted to rock bottom. It took me going into the back of a car one morning when I was fretting about going into work whilst I was on the school run to wake up and smell the coffee. I stepped up my campaign to get another job. Yep, 3 months later I started in a new job with lovely colleagues and everyday I wake up with a new found energy and enthusiasm. You know what I took a paycut and increased my travelling time but it was an easy choice. I worked out the pay cut (we could not afford) but I said right theres a new expense its going to cost £160 a month for a new work environment that comes with a new field of work, new colleagues and peace of mind.....and decided it was a steal! My hubby & kids love having the real me back instead of the gibbering wreck I was turning into - yep £160 a month is worth it in my book. I know we all have committments but you can find a way.
Just think about it like this, is there a price you would pay for a Cruella free zone? Bear this in mind everytime you consider a paycut. It does not have to be a permanent paycut either. You can carry on applying for other jobs and still go for a higher paid position as soon as you can. You can get a breather in the meantime by considering those lesser posts.
Oh my life this is supposed to be a "quick reply" and has turned into a bit of a ramble.
Thanks for being you and sharing like you do. I look forwrad to reading all about your success on the job front in the future.
Take care

Stuff paying the loan off early OM. No point being debt free & dead. If you put it back to its' original term what would it be? Say £200 less a month - that's over 3k a year you could take as a pay cut - so you need to prioritise and decide - debt free or Cruella free??????A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sorry if this sounds cruel, but what exactly does the OH do for you?
It seems as tho all he does is belittle you in any way he can, and sponge off you at every opportunity!
I'm sure there's more to the relationship than you write about on here, but please don't make the mistake of staying with some1 who is all take and no give, just because you're scared of being alone etc x x0 -
