Gosh, thank you so much:TI am familiar with Nuxe, years ago I used their huile d'produgese (oh gosh sorry about the spelling) which I bought from Boots, problem is I don't live in London any more but am now in the sticks so I shall have to hunt down an online seller, are Space NK online? I shall have a look.
I don't like a lot of products but am not bothered if a product is good and does what I want if its cheap or expensive, I don't get on with Lush products at all or any Lauder Group products (which is a shame because I love the make up) that discounts, unfortunately, a lot of your list:( I am very interested in the Jason products my local health food shop has a large range so I might give these a go, just to clarify is it the company that make JASON C VIT cream, I hope its the same one that would be handy:)
I am going to carry on with the OCM but my skin is giving me grief atm I think I might give jojoba oil a try, I'm off shopping tomorrow (I hope), so will let you know how I get on, thank you again for taking the the trouble to post such a helpful answer:DThank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
Has Clarins got parabens in then? I just assumed that it did. DH got me a gift card for Xmas but was trying to eliminate nasty chemicals on my hair/skin/cleaning.0

I don't mind at all- love to advise! But this is not very money saving I have to forewarned- I am yet to find a cheaper moisturiser which doesn't cause problems on my skin- I have tried many! (Dove, Simple, Nivea, Vaseline, No.7, L'Oreal- various types of, Tesco/Barbara Daily, Garnier....)
I use Nuxe, its quite pricey though (but makes a good Xmas present) cheaper then Clarins/Clinique but more expensive then Boots. It was Nuxe that I was given a samples of at the Vitality show. Its the Nivanassque (or something like that!) which I like best but they have other creams for different skin types so its best to try and see. Boots used to stock them but they don't now. Space NK do.
I did riffle through a few samples by Lush (they very kindly let me try a few to find which suited my skin) I tested Celestial, Imparitus, Skin Drink and they all gave me similar ugly red whitehead spots, then I tried Vanishing cream and its perfect! I think there are fewer oils in. Contrary to what most of us would assume, Lush do have parabens in their products but they don't have mineral oils in.
I also liked Aveda when I got a few samples from them. Again scarily expensive but I am slowly coming to the conclusion that only the expensive creams tend to skimp on mineral oils and have fewer parabens in them.
Orgins are a nice (but expensive!) brand, )I buy them with my advantage points). Have to say the facial wash/exfoliation stuff is great but I only liked the Skin Guardian/Perfect World. The SPF didn't sink in very well at all and many of the products have citrus added to them which can really sting if you get it near your eyes! This is annoying as I am too lazy to use a separate eye cream (even though I have one!)
I did try the Neals Yard sample they were giving out in Marie Claire last year (Frankincense) and I normally love Neals Yard, but didn't like this, it was just too heavy for me. While it didn't cause me spots it just felt heavy and became sticky after about 30 minutes of it settling. I find that products with Rose tend to do this sticky thing but only a week after the pot has been opened. I found the same when I tried Weleda. Its odd and may not be the case for everyone but for me rose as an addition to a facial cream is a no-go! Neals Yard do have another cream which worked better for me but I cannot remember what the name it was!
I used samples of Clarins Beauty Balm which was good. Clinique's Dramatically different.... I didn't like but neither caused me spots. Dermalogica was a nice facial moisturiser- I've tried several of them in the way of samples from ebay (they are excellent for the gym) but didn't really get a chance to use them every single day for a month which I would suggest for any product trial (2 weeks minimum). Again, no spots or dry skin caused but took a while to sink in. I'd probably buy this if I had the money or they reduced the prices by like 50%!
There is a brand called Jason Natural, its very cheap compared to everything else and you can get tiny little pots to buy to try in Wholefoods if your ever in London, its a good product, no mineral oils or parabens but took a while to sink in. If and when I run out of the backlog of stuff I've been given for Xmas I'll probably pick up a pot of this stuff.
Have you tried any of the Lush ones, they are fab. Not particularly cheap, but vary from £10 upwards, and are made from natural stuff, and are very effective. My favourite is Paradise regained £24.96, although I love Celestial £10.03.0 -
After a few posts on here about some nasty stuff in things i use on a regular basis, i have now decided i want to try and use sls and paraben free as much as poss.
The cheapest aka moneysaving range i can find is designed for kids but read loads of good reviews and we as a family can all use it is the Halo N Horns range which is stocked most supermarkets and superdrug etc
Here's the range http://www.halosnhorns.co.uk/
So i'm off to asda tommorrow and get my son some of the toothpaste as well...really opened my eyes but a lot of the good stuff is quite expensive and we are on tight budget. x
If anyone knows of similar products at good price please post as the more the merrier x Thanks.0 -
I us Halos N Horns for my kids too. I get mine from Tesco's, not expensive, but very gentle on sensitive skin.0

Been having a hunt around and came up with this site for Nuxe, Space NK are online but pricey
http://www.lookfantastic.com/beauty/nuxe/nuxe-moisturisers
The JASON brand creams are looking promising, they are the brand that I was thinking of so would only be a short trip into town for me, having a look at a list of their products online, they also do a pure jojoba oil so hopefully I will be able to go and have a browse tomorrow:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

I am a huge fan of Jason stuff.
In partiular I cannot survive well without their very viscous, hard to find Vit E oil. They do a less viscous VitE oil too, but the thick sticky stuff is often all my very fussy skin which is extremely affected by some medications I take, can stand. The first time I treid it I had skin flakin so badly that I felt embarassed to leave the house and this super viscous Vit E restored it better than enything I've used before or since. It also is the very best lip treatment I have ver used. My lips have in the past been so chapped and dry the have bled and even had huge scabs on them, but this super thic Vit E has ''cured'' them in unbelievably short time, and since finding it -when I remember to use it, they simply never reach anything like that stage. In winter I used it twice aday on lips and when needed on my kin, perhaps, twice/three times a week.
I started OCM after reading about it here. Having known how great Vit E had been for me I felt it worth trying. I like it a lot. I still use other skin products afterwards, e.g. I moisturise rather than use the cleanse oil I mix up as some do. It is effective and so much gentler than any other product I've used. I find it more effective than aqueaous cream personally, and less heavy and cloying.
I'm so excited to find another Jason fan!0 -

Also in Holland and Barret! (I thought it was only in Wholefoods 'till I found it earlier today!) Not the full range but quite a few bits in there! Love the brand too- also love how they have mini pots you can easily pack on your handbag/gym bag/travel bag. Its the IU Vit E cream I like too- great minds eh!:cool:0 -

Link to website here: http://www.jason-natural.com/products/moisturizing.php goodluck with your creams- try and visit the Vitality show, they aren't as happy with the freebies as they used to be but you may be able to get some advice and maybe some samples if you show interest (rather then them giving handfuls of them away in goodie bags as they did in past years)0
