Any suggestions for a substitute for Bio-oil which is a bit pricey? Would almond oil work as well?

Watt Brothers ~(again) do an oil called 'Rescue Oil' that is £1.99 for a bottle - can't remember how many ml sorry.

If it's to stop stretch marks or similar, rosehip oil is supposed to work very well.
  • Cheap baby wipes, esp own brand ones ie asda or superdrug or wilkos. Asda often have 6 packs of baby wipes on offer for £5, with 80 wipes in each pack...i use them because ive got sensitive skin, use the unfragranced ones for taking makeup off...

Vaseline, multi use product, could not live without it....

Black Strap Molasses (£1.50 ish from H&B). 1 table spoon of molasses mixed with 1 table spoon of olive oil makes a fantastic face mask. Acts as a exfoliator, tightening and firming.

....best done when no one else is in the house, can frighten small children :p

You can also use Molasses mixed with hair conditioner for a hair mask for damaged hair.

Coconut Oil is a really cheap hair conditioner, I used to get a big tub in Superdrug for 99p. You can also use it for dry skin anywhere on the body. Also its great for KP, which is a skin condition where you get pimple-like bumps on your arms, so a very cheap multi-purpose product!

Whereabouts do you find the Coconut oil in Superdrug? Just so that the next time I am in there I am not wandering round like a senile old lady :o

A cautionary comment about Aquaceous cream - look at the ingredients and you'll find all sorts of gunk including cetostearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulphate, white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, purified water and the preservative phenoxyethanol.

Sodium laurel sulphate is an industrial de-greaser used to clean garage floors. It is caustic and used in chemical trials to irritate skin and hair follicles deliberately so that companies can test the effects of other calming products.

I'd steer clear of anything containing SLS, petro-chemicals and parabens if you value your skin and hair.
