Hi, I wondered if people might be willing to share their 'cheap beauty secrets?' I've spent a lot of money on products over the years, many of which didn't seem to do very much.
However, one of my recent discoveries is facial oil and facial massage. I bought a little bottle of vitamin E oil from Superdrug for a couple of pounds and now I put it on last thing at night and give my face a little massage. It's very relaxing and does seem to 'plump' up my skin. If I can be bothered, I sometimes do the same in the morning before I shower, and it does seem to make a difference....I feel my skin looks a bit more glowing, plumper and less tired.
What cheap beauty secrets have you found that really worked?

i like oils too.
is the vitamin e oil from superdrug pure or is it the beige bottle with lots of other stuff in it?
pure vit e oil can be purchased from holland and barratt and is quite dear. i know superdrug used to do a pure one but it seems to have disappeared0 -
Coconut Oil is a really cheap hair conditioner, I used to get a big tub in Superdrug for 99p. You can also use it for dry skin anywhere on the body. Also its great for KP, which is a skin condition where you get pimple-like bumps on your arms, so a very cheap multi-purpose product!0

i have some scarring on my arm and used to try all sorts to reduce it. i tried the £20 plus scar removal patches (elastoplast brand ones, i think? can't remember now, got them from boots) - did nada except flatten a bit. tried bio oil - absolutely useless. what did work, however, was superdrug's vitamin e body lotion which retails at £2.09! it was absolutely amazing. it felt nice on my skin, and i noticed a big difference with the scars very quickly - they faded much more quickly, were flatter, and seemed to shrink too. idk if it works as well with stretchmarks (i've never tried it for that) but i fully recommend it for anyone looking for an alternative to bio oil/scar plasters

IMO this is the best and most effective beauty money-saving tip ever. Even if you don't have a particularly problem skin, simply swapping your usual cleanser for cleansing with a natural oil like almond oil, obtainable from thje supermarket will result in you saving a fortune and more importantly, balancing your skin and saving you spending a fortune on corrrective products!0 -
What does ocm mean, please? Edit: it is oil cleansing method?
Oh, can you use aqueous cream as an eye make-up remover too? I'm looking for something cheap-ish I can use to remove my eye make-up. Some removers I've used in the past have made my eyes feel sore and 'scratchy' so I'd prefer a product I could use for something else if the make-up remover idea doesn't work out. Is it true you can use baby lotion or baby oil as an eye make-up remover? Or which 'natural' oils would people recommend for use on eyes?
