hi all!
finally i got all my paperwork, pin and card through...rushed to comet only to be told that all they can offer is an acer laptop...so i said i would look online before deciding...for all you that have got them..can you advise on the best site, waiting time and best deal please..i have the laptop only deal with no broadband included...i have read somewhere that one company does a free printer and wondered which of the 3 netbook and laptops you went for and would i be better going for bigger ram or free printer do you think???
many thanks if you can help me.
i am itching to order right now!
also do any come with webcams?
personally i would stay away from the acer at comet , its the worst one thats available , best site i have come across , used and seeen others use and reccomend is positive IT solutions , you get the extra 1gb upgrade making your laptop a 2gb , and they deliver within 3-4 days , other sites are offering printers but be careful with printers as some only take genuine ink and its very expensive , if its just for kids to print homework off then a cheap 2nd hand printer will do the job perfect , a set of ink for a printer is around 20-30 quid and dont last long trust me
i would go for a laptop not a netbook , laptops are bigger screens and have a dvd/cd drive so you can watch dvds or play cds and burn your photos to disc etc ... a netbook dont have a drive so its just for surfing basically0 -
Got my Laptop (Samsung 2GB) but there are no discs with it, not even a recovery disc. Do I have to request this? If so, from whom? Positive IT? Samsung? Microsoft?
same here i had no discs , but you can make one so im told or there is a plac somewere on the menu to totally restore pc back to factory settings , you shouldnt need to do that thou unless you have some bad virus0 -

2gb is better than 1 , you can store more ... i think lol0 -

Wrong,
1GB and 2GB RAM has nothing to do with storage. Storage is down to hard drive size and if your hard drive was 1 or 2GB large, it would be considered extremely small.
RAM is random access memory, and more of it results in a smoother running system, allowing you to open more programs at any one time without it bogging down your system. It is also useful for memory intensive programs like Adobe Photoshop which will run better with more RAM.0 -
