I just had a long call with the OU.

The nice chap goes that they might be able to transfer some credits from my business degree if i want to do a new degree.

Also for postgraduate study, £10,000 cost.

I am going to ring a friend who works in the industry. Find out a bit more about what he does and the opportunities available.

Thanks all for your advice. I feel like this thread has given me the right platform to research more into what i want to do in the future. Otherwise i might have done something stupid and signed up for any course without any thought.

You're most welcome. Money aside, time is precious which you will not get back, so choosing the right course is crucial.

Try testing the water with a range of career options.

£10,000 cost?! It's rare for masters to cost that, unless it is a specialist business course or based in London.

    Yeh it is 10,000.

6 compulsory modules of that course are 995 each lol. And then you have to choose 2 optional ones at 995 again. Then for the last 60 credits, dissertation stage its 1750. So roughly 10,000 in all. I think thats just for most computing ones at OU.

Yeah, that's a lot. If you can spare the time, a taught masters is normally something like 1500/year over 2 years at a "normal" uni...

I think this is normally only possible if you haven't already received the qualification. For instance, I have done a couple of OU courses but have not requested the certificates. Therefore I can link those course units to a formal qualification. If I had received the certificates then that'd be it, I would have a couple of certificates saying I'd passed a couple of courses. I couldn't then link those to another qualification because that'd be getting two qualifications for the same work..

    Thi is not true.
