Hi i got a 2:2 degree at Derby University but i read in another thread that you can transfer credits from 2nd or 3rd year over to another final year course at a different institution like Open University.
Is this possible as i really did want a 2:1. I was so close as it was and missed out.

I suspect that the answer is no and why should you be able to?0

Not that I know of, you can transfer during a course but not once you've graduated. If that was the case everyone would just keep transferring until they got firsts.0

Wouldn't have thought so.
Why didn't u do it first time round?

its not quite the same, but a friend got a 2:2 through Open Uni, but she wanted a 2:1, shes taking an additional 60 point course at level 3 to turn it into a BAHons,
It may be worth looking at Open Uni website as they credit transfer your existing qualifications, and go from there.

I don't know you, but plz take it as a compliment that you got the degree, ok it might not be the mark you wanted, but you did it.
I'm on the Level 2 courses with Open Uni, this was the 1st exam course, but where my assisgnment score averaged at 85, my exam was 50, so I know that if I can get through to degree, I'd be lucky to get a 2.2.
Good luck, hope you get sorted. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

What is your degree in? Do you want a degree in a particular named subject? More info needed before more info can be given0 -

This is something different. She got a 2.2 for a degree without honours. She is just topping up her degree (so she may get a 2.1 or a 2.2 depending on what she gets in her level 3 credits). The OP has an honours degree already and want to improve it.0 -
I did a degree in Business Management which i find is too broad and finding jobs with a 2:2 is hard. I have friends that did the same degree with 2:1, all have jobs now. I wanted to do something more specific, might have had a better chance with a 2:2 then.0

I think this is normally only possible if you haven't already received the qualification. For instance, I have done a couple of OU courses but have not requested the certificates. Therefore I can link those course units to a formal qualification. If I had received the certificates then that'd be it, I would have a couple of certificates saying I'd passed a couple of courses. I couldn't then link those to another qualification because that'd be getting two qualifications for the same work.
You could try doing a Masters through the OU to top up your degree.0 -

Why don't you do a masters? Or do qualifcations related to where you want to work? (so if accountancy, ACCA/ACA etc.)
Have you seen careers advisor?0 -
Have you tried contacting a student advisor at the OU? They might be able to help you sort something out. I'm not sure if you'll be able to top up your course though as you've already graduated and been awarded your degree.
A masters would look good to any potential employers but postgraduate is harder to get funding for.:coffee:Coffee +3 Dexterity +3 Willpower -1 Ability to Sleep
