Degree Help

I have finally decided that i want to do more study - but am having trouble on whether i should do further study in terms of postgraduate or whether to choose another degree.
I am keen to do computing/accounting/maths. All topics that i have a keen interest in but i cant do a masters study in those as they want relevant degrees.
I have seen MSC strategic information technology management which doesnt sound too bad. More business related. Not sure 100% if that course floats my boat but just to enhance my profile a little, i dont mind doing it. Course fee is £3000 as id get a discount going back to the same uni i was at. - part time (2-3 Years)
Then the other option i have got is to do a second degree with the OU. I worked it out to be around 4500 roughly which is doable for me. Although i would probably choose computing/maths/accounting degree. If i do this part time - could take 6years i think.
Just dont know which route to take now.
I rang my uni up and spoke to an advisor. Purely on finance basis she told me to choose the masters course.0 -
You can do postgraduate courses with the OU, why not look in to those?
To be honest, it sounds like you have no real persuasion to either degree. This is what you need to decide before applying for masters or anything else. It'll be an expensive waste of time if you don't like it. Masters are intensive, much more so than final year undergraduate studies.0 -
I have looked at business postgraduate courses with ou but most say i need to be 25 years old. Unless i have read it wrong0
-
Where does it say that? Link? MBAs usually need at least three year's experience (usually more) and so you would need to be at least 25, but there are other degrees.0

The bit on planning your study, and i dont have experience of management.
I think i will ring them again0 -
I think i need to sit down and think what i want to do. is it a degree or postgraduate study.0

You should try to get some experience, even if it is just shadowing. Then you can decide what sort of direction you want to go in.0

Look again at that.
I did MSc Computing and Software Technology (mainly as I wasn't happy with my 2:2, either) and there was no requirement for a relevant degree at all, in fact I was one of the only ones from a Computer Science background.
Also, just to say that having a Masters *does* help...it makes your CV look better to anyone who actually reads it (obviously it doesn't help if they knock you out for having a 2:2) and certain employers do prefer those with PG qualifications. I wholeheartedly believe I wouldn't have got either of my jobs so far without the MSc on my CV.
If you can shoot for a merit, distinction etc so much the better.0 -
Can i just ask, where did you study that course?0

Swansea, about 4 or 5 years ago now...0
