Just another observation - according to him the rent was received on 26th July - that is interesting as it was a Sunday - how many banks show credits (or debits) on a Sunday? Think he got his dates wrong!!!!

Agent said on 19th that he was doing her deposit refund that night but he obviously didnt as yesterday he texted her saying is this sortcode and account number correct for returning deposit, if so text back yes to this message. She tried to reply to it but it wouldnt let her, she thought it might be a computer text and it wasnt his usual number it just said the buisiness name not his name so she had to text the agents regular mobile number instead. She did not just put yes as he requested she put the sortcode and account number and reminded him of the refund expected just in case he decides to take the so called weeks rent owed from it. No invoice has arrived yet for the weeks rent either.
The 10 days from the date of the letter for return of deposit will be up by weds 27th. Do you think hes stalling for time and do you think its ok that she sent her bank details over the text?
    Thanx

  • Yes, I most definitely think he's up to something, this has been pretty clear from the outset really. Perhaps he's run out of fingers and toes or his Excel skills are weak trying to justify this extra week's rent due. Who knows?

I can't see any problem about sending her bank details by text, myself.

I look forward to Wednesday the 27th's deadline.

    Please keep us posted!

Yes daughter says the cheque he put in has now cleared so she has the whole deposit back now :) Many thanks to everyone helping in this thread :)

Oddly though, up to now she has not recieved the bill he said he was going to send her for the so called weeks rent he said she owed him even though its clear she doesnt. It may be that hes slow at getting around to posting it, or he may have had second thoughts about trying to rip her off as trying to put that in writing would have looked pretty shifty. Or who knows he might even have been stupid enough to send it to the address she rented from him because he possibly is that stupid!

She hasnt heard from him at all, no texts or anything since he rang about the weeks rent. I'm not too keen on him now knowing my address though as my daughter had to give him this to send the bill to. I don't understand why hed phone her to tell her he was sending the bill and needed the address and then hasnt done it. I just hope it wasnt an excuse to get her new address for any reason, he is pretty weird
    Thanx

  • HOORAY!!!!!

I love it when a plan comes together!

With a bit of luck this cretin agent has finally realised, using his fingers, toes and an abacus, that your daughter owes him not a cent. I wouldn't worry about any further correspondence coming your daughter's way. If a bill does arrive tell her to either ignore it or to send him a £1 calculator and a calender. Sod him!

    Haha yes good idea :)

Even if it does come I wont worry about it, I'm quite confident knowing she owes him nothing and if he does it will almost be fun making a bigger fool out of a fool :)

Everyone here does a great job helping people out, I don't know what I'd do without this site. My daughters sends her thanks to everyone too, shes really grateful to all of you so a big THANKYOU EVERYONE!!! from both of us :)
    Thanx
