  • I made a variation to the cheese pie yesterday, to go with our HM faggotts. It worked really well - 'till hubby decided he didn't like sweet potato (cause they tasted sweet!)

I used 1 large sweet potato, microwaved then mashed with salt & pepper, 1 small onion sweated off in olive oil, 3 oz reduced fat chedder, 1 oz parmisan and a handful of oats.

Well I gave in and ordered it.

My workmate brought her copy in for me to have a look at and I am in love with it. My husband was quite understanding at the thought of yet another cookbook entering the house, although the promise of home made crumpets (from a recipe in the book) might have helped him along :rotfl:

  • Hi Butterfly Brain
I am absolutely useless at cooking but really fance a go at the impossible pie. This probably sounds like the stupidest question ever but what did you do once you had all the ingredients in the bowl because on the programme I thought the lady said that she bashed it about a bit before putting it in the dish. I wondered what she meant by this, did she beat it, stir it or what.

Glad it went well for you.

I spotted the Mums Know Best book in Costco this afternoon, for £9.95, so I bought it :) They also had the Hairy Bikers tour of Great Britain for the same price - might get that one next time!

Here's the recipe from the programme: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/mumsknowbest/recipefairs/ep3_fair.pdf

Just mix it all together is what that says.
