No milk tart, but many many other things I want to make, please someone talk me out of buying it.0 -
Hello
My book arrived from Amazon today. Looking through it just now for the milk tart.So little money - so much time :mad:0 -
Theres a recipe for a Manchester tart and a buttermilk pie - can't see anything about a milk tart though. I haven't seen yesterdays programme yet though.
Can't wait to try some of the recipes out. Looks very yummy. So little money - so much time :mad:0 -
I made the Barrovian Love Sponge cake from the second episode for my wife to take to work for her birthday. I'm very much a novice baker, but I found the recipe straightforward, and the result was light, fluffy, and apparently amazingly good.
The recipe is available on the web site here.

I made the sweet & sour tonight (with chicken instead of pork).
It was lovely, really authenic.
Next time I do it I will cut the chicken in smaller bits, & I added chopped peppers & carrots because I like them in it.0 -

Even my DH likes watching these two - and he normally hates cooking programmes! In fact we all watch it - they are just so entertaining to watch.
I doubt I'll be getting the book though - there always make so many 'meaty' recipes.0 -
