Is the milk tart recipe in the book? I couldn't find it on the website.

Still trying to resist buying the book but if that recipe is in it, I might give in!
  • Just ordered the book £.9.99 from Amazon with free delivery released on the 14th.
They are brill and very nice guys I met them when by chance one day so friendly down to earth, what you see on Tv is what you get! They are cook not chefs and thats what appeals to me.

    milk tart - lekker!

my friends grannie in-law in south africa made great milk tart among other things, if you left her house hungry it was your own fault :rotfl:!

I adapted an ordinary melktert recipe to be vegan - and my family prefer it to the dairy version :D. I think I'll make one this week - my DH will love me for ever :rotfl:

I want a job as a food historian like that chappy on their show!!

I said to my DH last night that it's surprising he's not as big as Si or Dave with the amount of food he has to eat! I wish I had his metabolism

OMG, I want that date cake recipe. It's got dates, butter and condensed milk.

Apparently it is in Delia's Complete Cookery Course (1982) see page 603 - so it might be on her website

In my older edition it is in part 2, p274 Sticky date cake
  • I've ordered the book from Amazon too - I am really enjoying the show so far
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Please share the recipe for the vegan one as I can't have cows milk anymore :o and I love milk tart /custard tart etc (Although I will have to save it as trying to lose xmas pounds!)

I did moderate the drooling over the recipes on the Hairy Bikers (how yum did that game pie look?), by watching the Big Fat Diet Show on Channel 4 +1 :rotfl:

    I'll do it tomorrow.

The game pie didn't look yum to me though as I'm vegan! :D
