I find my knees really hurt when I do squats, do you get the same and does it improve after a while? Always a bit cautious with my knees.

They were hurting quite a bit at first, but this has eased off. The pain I have is just above the knee at the front, so was told it is tendonitis. Never seems to hurt much during excercise, but more afterwards when sitting, standing and climbing stairs. Don't know if squats would help for any other type of knee pain but seems to be working for me.

I normally go to a stretch-and-tone session for 50+ people in the local WI hall. That's Monday mornings.

    Tuesday mornings, half-hour swimming lesson.

    Friday, half-hour swimming lesson.

Sometimes I go to adult swim on another day, or to aqua-aerobics.

    Hi new peeps!

I am chuffed with myself as I smashed my swim time this morning and I don't really know why. I did 106 lengths in 1 hour and 16 seconds (I swim as close to 1 hour as I can). Compared to yesterday which was similar time 1 hour and 5 seconds I did 102, yet Monday I swam 1 hour 2 mins and 19 seconds and only did 104. Yay me!

It's a 20 metre pool by the way, which is slightly shorter than most gym pools which are 25m. So total for 106 lengths is 2120 metres, 1 mile is 1600.

Well done SandyC, your swimming is really impressive. :T

I am away next week, no access to the gym, but there is a pool so will focus on swimming. Don't think I will be able to do 106 lengths though.

Another week added to my total - swam everyday whilst I was away. I did manage 100 lengths one day SandyC, but the pool was quite small.

    Hope everyone is doing OK.

Hi Jess and everyone else, good for you keeping it up while away!

I'm still doing well at 8/9 hours per week. Have smashed the swimming right out of the, er water. :D Last week the least I did was 104 and the most 118, this morning 114. In fairness they let us in early on Friday so I did an extra 3 mins which was why the total was high, this morning too I did 1.5 mins over an hour but even so I've reached the 110 mark in an hour and I am very pleased with myself.

Did 3 lots of exercise this week (so far). However tonight I had to quit halfway through, I went straight from work to the gym and didn't have the energy. Need to work out some suitable food to eat beforehand to get my energy levels up.

Hi guys, mind if I join in? I've been on a real exercise binge over the last month and would like to keep it up, so reckon it might help to record my exercise routine each week!

So far this week I have done the following:
    Monday - 45mins at gym
Wednesday - 1.5hrs on the climbing wall
    Thursday - 30mins at gym
And I'm going spinning tonight (30mins)

    Hi Alizarin, welcome!

I've never tried a climbing wall - 1.5 hours is it quite addictive then?
