£250 a pair?! thats expensive even by GHDs standards! Which type were you looking at- am curious to see a pair which are £250 as all the others are around £90-£130!

I am looking for a purple pair which I think were around £150 at Christmas time. One of the recommended GHD's stockists was selling them for £249.

Ah- the Christmas limited edition ones? Guess they will bring out something similar, but not until Christmas- they do though have a page on the site that you can join for when they bring out pink breast cancer ones- am imagining thats going to be around about October as thats when breast cancer month is.

Hope you find a suitable pair though- hopefully that are similar to the other GHD prices!

Maybe a silly question but have you looked on ghd website, they give you a list of trusted stockists, and if you find a place selling cheaply you can type in the address and they will let you know if the website should be used with caution.

I think she looked- she said GHD advised her that they were £250 from a recommended stockest and would imagine its because they know where they have stock- not sure if there will be any left though- they were a christmas limited edition.

Got an email today about the breast cancer ones- pastle pink all over (including plates it seems) for those who really like pink! (not my taste I have to say!)

i bought mine from Girls night which is a GHD recommended site listed on this thread. i was really lucky as i had a voucher with prima for another 10% off. I noticed that they had increased in price on the site slightly but it is worth a look.
  • Hi,
I had my GHD's for just over the 2 year warranty mark when they died. I called jemmella for the free postage bag to return them to be examined, they replied a week later to say it was wear and tear that had caused the fault. They offered to fix the straighteners for £55 or give me a discount on a new pair ( £120 pair for £90 ). I put up a good fight with them,I paid £150 for the straighteners as they came with the custom made, leather, heat proof ,protective case. After some to and fro and, eventually, a very helpful customer sales girl, I negotiated a new pair for £55. :T
In the meantime I found 2 different local repair shops, so when Jemella returned my old pair, I took them straight (no pun ;) ) to one of these shops and had them repaired for £25.
Now a dedicated money saver might have had the sense to sell the new pair on for a profit, but I now have a pair at home and a pair at work and I am happy as larry and straight as a die !!
  • Hi, just found this thread as I'm looking for a new pair of straighteners after ours were lost in a severe flood we had in May.
I have never tried GHD although I hear they are the best but I can definately speak for KODOS, they are really fantastic, very hot, I have very thick long hair and my daughter has my thickness along with afro/european hair and she loved them also, I am truly lost without them but didnt think I could afford another pair as those were a pressie for christmas a couple of years ago,
I just came across this link after googling KODOS and cant believe the price so decided to post it here in the hope that it helps some of you.
