May I ask you all something....?

If you met someone, and they didn't like alcohol, and they wanted not to go in places with alcohol, or for you to drink in front of them

    AND

They didn't like violence, and didn't want to watch violent movies etc with you

    ---

What would you think of them?

Would you respect there wishes or think they were being silly?

Having a lot of paranoia today, involving major things and minor things

One minor thing is I had my hair cut yesterday and it looked fab, I washed it this evening and now it looks a mess, I can never get it looking like the hairdresser, sat on the bedroom floor cring my eyes out because I thought it looked disgusting and poofy. Husband says it looks beautiful.

Feeling really emotionally confused at the moment, but don't feel as though I could talk about it to anyone, trying not to let it affect my relationship with my husband.

    Sorry you are feeling low.

We often are our own worst critics.

Has it dried yet? It may look better to your eyes once dried?

Re: hair. I'm not an expert on women's hair but I do know many women who say their hair looks perfect from the salon but it is never quite right once they've washed it. If somebody managed to find a way to overcome this then they would make a fortune.

Your husband was trying to help. I can't say for definite but it probably does look beautiful to him and I'm sure you are a beautiful lady.

There is always someone to talk to, whether it be us, the samaritans, a friend, lover.... It does help, although it can be hard for us to talk to those closest.

Personally I would respect their wishes, but I always put others first. As to what to think of them it would depend on the situation and the person.

Well, in this case, the reasons are serious, and like yourself, would respect someones wishes.

Only someone finds it hard to understand, well, not understand, but put there words into action.

I just thought maybe I was being unreasonable, despite plenty of people telling me to the contrarary.

I would respect their wishes, there are plenty of places to go where there is no alcohol and movies that are not violent, saying that there is even violence in tom and jerry so i suppose it depends what level of violence you are comfortable with.

Thanks blinky, I suppose I always have a rather negative perception of myself anyway, just the way I have always been.

It's sounding more and more like it's 'S' who doesn't understand, or at least finds trouble accepting it, as everyone else has said to me, i'm being reasonable - for instance, she has trouble with a few things, and i'm extra careful with her because of them.

No you are not being unreasonable. If it was a persistent thing it would cause me to think whether I was compatible with the person.
