sleepy wrote:Well, I got about 3 hours sleep in the end. Got up showered and dressed, but then when I got to the front door I burst into tears. So I called work and said I wouldn't be in. Went back to the doctors and he signed me off for a week, but said I shouldn't really expect to go in before christmas.
I just feel so useless.
Hi sleepy.
Saz left the catflap open so I sneaked in.
You must be exhausted angel. Well done for you in getting showered and dressed and trying to get to work.:T I know how much that must have taken for you to do hun. You're not useless sleepy - but you can end up that way if you push yourself too much too soon. It sounds like you've got a really understanding GP - lucky you!;) When you're poorly hun, stressing yourself out makes you worse. Accept the time off - just as you would if you'd broken a leg. You've got to be kind to yourself and try and remember that your low self-esteem is part of your illness. Being at work doesn't make someone better than anyone else. Work is a changeable situation. Depending on how long you've been ill, or may be ill, you may be able to claim DLA - even if you're working again.
I know you can see all the things that you want/should be doing angel, but you have to make this your time now hun. Nothing is more important than your health, sleepy. When you get really low, remind yourself that you need this break hun. Try and see if you can use it constructively to de-stress yourself and look after yourself. Enjoy what you can of the holiday season. You have a valid reason for being off work sleepy - don't feel bad angel.
Post here whenever you need to - there's always some kind soul passing by that will listen to you. I think you're doing all the right things angel - feel proud of yourself for seeing the dr. That's all that's important - anything else can wait till another time, right hun?
And for what it's worth angel, you're not losing the plot, you're not the only one who has felt like this and you can be helped! Thinking of you.
Much Love

Sazbo wrote:Hi lovlies. Sorry I wasn't around much yesterday, had visitors and was in and out a fair bit. Didn't sleep great last night, but nothing new there particularly
Mushypeas and mclaren - hi and welcome to thread. It's a wonderful group of people who post here. This thread has been a lifeline for me, without a doubt. Hopefully you'll find it a source of help and support too. Mclaren - just a though maybe get your neck checked out hun?
Much love,
Sazzy xxxx) lol - yeh, its a good lifeline thread i think.
if you have sleeping problems, it could be your matress or it could be that you have alot of stress and things on your mind hunNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
Thanks Tiff, you sound just like my Mum! As my mum has gone through this herself, she is being really supportive, she didn't even grumble when I rang her at 2am!
I've decided not to even think about work for a few days, as it really stresses me out. My poor fiance is really worried about leaving me alone all day while he is at work, but I've explained that at the moment I'm not onsidering killing myself like I was on Friday.
Although obviously nobody would ever choose to feel like this, it has at least made me realise how many wonderful and supportive people there are out there, especially all you guys.
My GP is lovely, he's new, only worked there for a month, but he's so much more friendly, welcoming and understanding than some of the others. I've never bothered to make appointments with the same dr twice before (at my surgery you just see whoever is available), but I think this one is a keeper.0 -
feelinggood wrote:Hehe, I've got to many jitters to sit in the bath at the moment.
And I stood up to OH.
He wanted me to order him something, and ask me if I could. I said I didn't feel up to it. He said, well, I'll just leave it with you... This went on for several minutes, and in the end I said very firmly but not shouting - No, I will not be ordering it for you. You can do it yourself. And he did. Whilst pulling a lot of faces at me lol, I've never known a man beso incapable of things before!
I've got sooo much to do, it means I'm not thinking tho.
I've got an overwhelming urge to scrub the skirting boards :-/
He should not order you to do anything hun xNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -

I think Tiff sounds like a cheeky monkey!!But she's a very wise monkey too
You're priority now is getting well, and going back to work before you are ready isn't going to help with that. Don't feel guilty. Decent GPs are worth their weight in gold! Sx

You took the words out of my mouth with your reply to Ethel. I was about to point out that the "big pain "was not in her neck - or if so it was on two feet!!!! (BF)
