thanks feelingood :) It's a long story, but I've had a few months of heavy work to distract me, now it's stopped that numbness inside has crept back. I really would like to crawl under the duvet and stay there.

Lots of parties are coming up at work, I think I'll pull out at the last minute. Sounds like you have Christmas sorted! BTW I like your quote.

P.S. And your avatar, I love the sea
    Hi

    Nice to meet you

I don't blame you for wanting a duvet time. The darkness, wind and rain is sending me to mine. It was the only way to keep warm today having had no power!

Do try and go to the parties (even if it is just one). Dress up, think of the good in them. It is once a year and a distraction from the heavy work, even if you do work with the people!

Love your avatar too - is it your creation?

    Hey Ethel :)
Sorry for hiding, its been a very low few days for me, and I didn't want to inflict myself on you guys. I'm feeling a little better now, so hopefully will stick around.
Have you got the desk to yourself?
Sorry to hear about your low days. Don't worry about inflicting us. It is a good place to post the good, new and bad in our lives.

Today was stressful but in a way productive

hmm probably worth getting it checked out then... I've got a permanent ache in my right shoulder/neck but it's from lugging a heavy bag full of books around all the time, lol
A pain in the neck doesn't just come from carrying books!;)

I've had a few days away. I'm not exactly great right now, but 'S' text my flatmate and told her she thought we were both lovely :o

She told flatmate she's scared and doesn't know who to trust.

'S' father is back within 2 weeks and she's freaking. Also found out the anniversary of her Mum passing is 21st December, so she's losing it right now.

She told flatmate she does want to see me again, but she's frightened of me :o She can't understand why I haven't used her yet or at least made a move. She see's men as for sex, women for friends :( although she hasn't slept with anyone for a while, so is steering clear of men as she thinks they are bad, but there is something between us which confuses the hell out of us both.

I can only keep trying, but one thing for sure is, any relationship other than friendship will be impossible now, or in the near future, because she can't handle anything negative..........not even someone blowing off in the wrong direction :o

Doesn't help me, as i'm way ahead of her in terms of strength, but I get down too, and sometimes, I just don't want to be 100% positive all the time, yet with her, I have to be, or she retreats.

    Arrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be there for her on the 21st, she will need you!

    Keep going, little steps....

PMSL at blowing off - I don't want to be downwind of anyone doing that either:D

Well, she never does. She's one messed up girl and it really frustrates me.

I know she won't do much better than me, as a person anyway, as I am 110% genuine, unlike all the bar stewards she's used too.....maybe that's what scares her
You are probably too good to be true in her eyes. If she is that damaged, she will be suspicious and you do get to expect the worst when you get the worst.

Hang in there - be there for her, it will be painful for you at times, but if you think she is the one, you keep going!

Just wanted to pop in and say "HUGS" to all and just to let you know why I hadn't been around for the past 10 days or so..

Sadly on the 24th November I suddenly lost my mum to pneumonia and septicimia. She was rushed into the hospital 36 hours before after collapsing and unfortunately she died twice on route, once in the ambulance and t'other time in the rescuss room. It took them 3 hours to work on her but they got her back for her to go into ICU. She sadly gave up the will to live and herorgans gave up and basically I had to make the horrible decision to turn off life support and let her die peacefully. I was with her the whole time and was there when she passed away, so she wasn't alone.

This has totally cut me up more than I expected. We hadn't spoken since Feb of this year unfortunately, although I did still love her so much and this was brought home to me when I was with her in the hospital that night.

Last week I haven't really stopped, I have had to go to her house a fair bit, organise the cremation and go to the solicitors. It took me two days to find her will, and that is out of date according to her friends. Sadly I have to "register an interest" in the will as I have not been named at all. The solicitor said that it shouldn't be a problem but I have to go and get my own solicitor, eeks!!! Thankfully there is only me, I am the only daughter and next of kin so basically if I can contest the will and get it in my favour then I should inherit. It's not something I really wanted to do but unfortunately because of how the will is, it is the route I have to go down.

I have the cremation on Wednesday of this week, and today I said my last goodbye to mum in the chapel of rest at the undertakers.

I have really been going around in a bit of a blur the past week or so, and every so often I keep crying my eyes then get angry.. I have also been getting low. The other day I didnt even get out of my pj's.

So basically that is where I have been at.. Hopefully I can get myself into some sort of order once the funeral is out the way..

    ((((Extra big hugs to you))))

You sound to have been to hell and back. That is one hard decision and death is a terrible blow. It is also the most stressful experience to deal with.

My father died suddenly in 2002 and was cremated.

Your world is in a new dimension, you are walking around in a state of shock

Yes, you now have the stress of the will - just watch all those people come out of the woodwork. Stand your ground and think about what your mother would want!

Do talk to us when you need to. We are all here to support you during this difficult time!
