    Easier nowadays.

English Mother, Czech Father means I became a British Citizen rather easy.

The new Czech Rep/Slovakia nations also helps, but being nations with so many neighbours and dual nationalities, means it is multi cultural.

It was still the iron curtain I think back then. It was wierd, they used to come every few years and the rest of the time write letters and postcards and stuff like that (sometimes the letters had big chunks covered so you couldn't read them) then all of a sudden all contact just stopped  My mum's friend was sick with worry but coudln;t get in touch wiht them and we never ever heard from them again :( (this was in the mid 70s)

Thanks again for the support - you're all :A :A

Well not working overtime didn't last long.... :(

I knew it was going to be a busy day but I was required to stay for 'business needs'. Basically, some new services are coming online in the next week and the preparation work was due to be completed today. A last minute delay to one part meant I had to stay an extra 1.5hours as I was the only person the project manager had confidence in getting the work done properly. :embarasse :rolleyes2

Didn't help I had to babysit one of the other sites through there changes and the project manager dropped some extra work about a technical glitch. Again he passed it to me because he thought I would understand the problem but the others wouldn't.

The idea at work is if you got knocked over by a bus would the account continue to function properly? The plan is for the answer to be yes but as one of the bosses has told me a few times recently there f**ked without me. I'm not that good at my job either....

I'm now dog tired and it makes it harder to try, stay positive and hang on in. I keep drifting into intense emotional pain :cry::cry:

I wish I could post something more postive and offer some support to you guys and ladies but I'm just about hanging on.

    Sorry,

    Paul

Don't worry Paul... the way to think is like this.... things are soo bad now there is only room for improvement, and it might take time but it will come gradually. I'm not sure how possible this will be for you but perhaps you need to be a bit more assertive with your boss.. it sounds as tho he might be taking advantage of you. If you really don't feel up to working longer hours just tell him so.. even if you say you feel fluey or something - after all it's better you go home on time than have to take weeks off because you've broken down.

Hope that helps, even if it is just a little tiny bit :)

    Ethel

That's a really touching story. Can't imagine what that would be like, just never hearing anything ever again, devastating, although I'm sure it happened a lot.

I'd say it's worth trying. Otherwise they win.

    They win anyway.

It seems whenever things looking as though they might be going well - it all goes horribly wrong and I end up in a worse situation. Should I just cut my losses and give up....

He's put me off people for life, combined with my mother who also has the same attitude.

I'm never allowed to relax - I get attacked if I dare speak my mind. They take offence and blame me. They get nasty and call me nasty.

I've been put off people by my ex for 5+ years. Starting to notice people, and notably 'ladies' again.

They are the nasty ones  Not that it makes it any less painful for you

What am I supposed to believe when my husband says mean things to me when I say I feel I don't get enough time with him and life is taken over by horrible things.

Believe he is a bad husband.

I honestly wouldn't put up with it. You know the nasty things aren't true though, right?
