    Welcome from another Geminilady:)

Just say what you feel, we are all very accepting and friendly in here

Thanks for the welcome, yes i can tell from reading the thread that you are a friendly lot.It does help to know that there are a lot of other people who suffer from depression in various forms.I have had it on and off for most of my life though trying to manage without medication at the moment.Think mine is down to a deep rooted fealing that nobody cares and very low self esteem. It started in my childhood, partly because i was an overweight child and partly because i grew up with a fealing of not been good enough, someone elses children were always better than me.Infact when i think back i honestly cannot remember ever being praised for anything, all i seamed to get was critism.I don't know if this was down to my mums mental health problems(it does seam to run in my family) and i do know my mum had a nervous breakdown when i was two so maybe this has something to do with it,but i do know that things that happen as a child can effect you for life.I am the living proof.

Hey Gemini, nice to meet you :)
If you ever want to talk about your childhood, or get things of your chest, we're always here.
I know how much childhood can affect you, and it does stay with you for a long time.
Are you in any 'talking therapies' to help you deal with it?

    Welcome to 'Chef'

Not many posts today............well I didn't go out did I this evening, so you didn't want to start a party, incase I came online

Anyway, okay day, woke up depressed, met someone for a coffee (a lady from local college who helps people with fears get back to college)

Anyway, she knows 'S', although I didn't mention her name to her, I discussed the situation and she gave some advice etc, but also reminded me to look after me. It was a good 90 minutes.

Can't get 'S' out of my head though. Started writing the lyrics to my next song, which I will record in 2 weeks :) It's a depressing song really, about 'S', about how I can't get past the barriers and what I want to tell her.....but it's from the heart. She'll never hear it, or at least not yet. Maybe one day it will be useful for her to hear it, I dunno :p

Anyway, off to bed, tired and got housework tomorrow............aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh :p

Hope you are all keeping your chins up (and anything else that may need keeping up!)

    Welcome to the thread

Don't worry, you don't have to be depressed to post here. If you feel down, feel free to share. It often helps to write it down.

    We are good listeners.

    Hi

Not been ignoring you, been feeling a bit muddled.

You sound to be making progress with S, she will be OK but it will take patience.

A lot of songs are inspired by heartache and emotions - they should be good:)

hi, i'm new to this thread too :) i suffered depression for a long while because of my abusive ex husband. took a long time to realise i needed help but when i finally did, i managed to get 6 sessions of CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) through my doctor. my therapist said my depression scores were one of the most severe she had seen and she feared i would harm myself, but after the 6 sessions, i feel so much better, i no longer have depression and i have moved on :) just wanted to share my story as i know people aren't alone in feeling the way they do and hearing other people helps :)
