If your doctor has prescribed them, then I would take them. It is amazing how much medication can really change your life. Mine make me seem like a normal human being. In fact most of the people I work with now do not know that I suffer from mental illness. I couldn't function without them.
I know there is a stigma about medication, but when you find the one that is right for you (I went through about 4 different ones before I found the right one) it is amazing the difference it can make.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

OH will be home any minute and I'm dreading it
I'm sorry to hear you dread your OH coming home. Completely get it. Used to dread my dad coming home too. When had my first serious episode and saw a CPN, the counselling identified that a lot of my problems stemmed from him (and i haven't lived at home for nearly 20 years)

Im not sure how I control mine, I have tried every drug there is virtually...and nothing works.
My last resort would be ECT and theres no way Im doing that.
I just make sure I have a set routine, healthy meals, partner informaed about what to do when I get ill, and noticing the signs. It is manageable just takes a long time to get used to the highs and lows.:wall:Crazy Nutters Club Member 003 :wall:0 -
Trouble with ADs is they are meant to muck up you know what and that is important to a guy.
But I am willing to try them and see what happens.:beer:0 -

I know, some of the pills can have really bad side effects, but if you find the right one/combination it is amazing how much it can change your life. My life is nearly back to normal now thanks to my meds.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

My father in law had ect and has been sectioned lots
That scares me - I'm terrified of being sectioned
I wouldn't ever be - I'd kill myself before they got me there!
To answer that Q - I don't think he could cope with it, would remind him too much of his dad.
Altho even if I got diagnosed, I doubt he'd believe me.
This is all cos of my age don't you know! Being gang raped at 13 hasn't messed me up - its just cos I'm a teenagerStay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Gentle reminder folks but you'll get this thread closed down if you continue with the self diagnostics and diagnosing others.
The thread is allowed as concession by Martin and the team for mutual support as is the alcohol thread but if you continue to post about medications and what medications people should or shouldn't be taking you are going to cross that line.
Please don't let this happen.0 -
