That's a lovely thing of your mum to do.
Yeah pickled veg - yum, but it doesn't seem to be that popular here in the UK and not all the foreign brands use the kind of sweet(ish) vinegar I like.I adore pickled veg, carrot is nice, a little white cabbage is OK and you can also have peppers as well as other veg too!

How about:
You walk to the Lidl 2 miles away for weekly shopping.
You visit the supermarket late in the evening (or Sunday at 3:30) a few times a week, and leave empty handed because there is no good deal.
You think even the basic stuff are too expensive and are loath to buy them. You only drink water in pubs or restaurants.0 -
