Not to say that all charity shops price things well (some don't know their primark from their designers and charge the same for everything).

But if I won't pay for it from a charity shop I'll look on ebay or a boot sale for it cheaper!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Hehe :D or when you haggle in a charity shop to get another 20p off (Ive done it :rotfl:) or questioned the total for the 3 items you have just gone to buy :rotfl:

It is a bit mean but you should see the prices they charge for stained clothes ie. yellow sweat marks under the arms, I will also give a bit more for good quality items :D.

i agree. sometimes they don't know what they are selling! this week i saw a M&S souvineer mug on sale for 95p, when the sticker on the bottom priced it at 1p! (ok, so there's a staff time charge, but i still thought it was daft), and a Poundland mug for 1.50!!

also this week i saw a nice handbag, but they hadn't even removed the USED TISSUE from inside it! i took it to the counter for the sales lady to tip the tissue into the bin and noticed 2 largeish holes where the strap had pulled. she took 2quid off. so i bought it. But this proves to me that sometimes they dont even look at the items, just tag and put out.

i know i can fix the bag, but another customer could have caught swine flu and been left with an expensive broken bag! :(

... sorry, back to the point. you know you're a money saver when... your chap has to work late so you have time to go to all 3 supermarkets that all on your route home, just to check for whoopsies!!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!

going, as I will this lunchtime to argue in Brewers Fayre that I have been overcharged a pound .Why let them get away with it, a pound is another meal

By the way I won my point and got a profuse apology and my pound back
  • when you can go to freezer and produce enough veggies and bits from leftovers to provide a nice meal without spending anything. All the mashed tatties I used to throw out over the years, didn't realize you could freeze them. Mushrooms are another money saver, I buy them when reduced and into freezer they go.

When you pass McDonalds every day just to collect stickers (you need 6 for free coffee) from thrown away cups. Than at the weekend you have your nice latte for free :).
  • When you head for the Clarins counter at department stores just to get some free samples. Tell them you've got sensitive skin and they'll happily hand over a couple of free samples of ultra expensive moisturiser or foundation for you to try.
  • Only ever buying bread that has been reduced to 20p in the local tiny corner shop Co Op, and stopping by most nights to check the reductions. Got 3 packs of £2.50 each cooked chicken for 30p a pack at same time as aforementioned bread. Rarely pay full price for bread. They always have cheap veg too, love it!!
Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!

When you make a pot of tea to enjoy Sunday morning only to discover that someone used the last half pint of milk and didn't get any out of freezer to defrost (grrr!), so you pour the hot tea into a flask until you can get to the shop later.
  • When you save the sticky tap from your valentines ferrero rocher for use on somrhing else at a later date.
    Put the kettle on. ;)
