With you all the way, sparrer - and they stack so well too
.
250g margarine tub holds a reasonable amount of filling for a jacket spud.
500g tub holds a portion of home made soup/casserole.
1kg tub holds two portions of soup/casserole - or one if my OH is feeling really greedy .
coleslaw container (with a sealable lid) holds left-over tinned toms/baked beans etc when a tin has been opened.
I've just started doing this too! And DH approves, which is good. :T They also work really well for baking ingredients - 2l tubs for flour, 1l for rice and coleslaw pots for pre-measured portions of seeds or choc chips.
You know you're a moneysaver when colleagues come to you for recipes and expect you to come back with bargains.

When you go to the DIY store to buy a value paint roller set, and then find the tray on its own for 98p.
When you wait for a car on autotrader to be reduced by £700 and then go and buy it.
When you buy "value" seeds for 38p instead of the normal price of over a pound.Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0 -
I love hummus, and as the tubs come in a cardboard sleeve the pots have no writing on, they are fab for leftovers and store cupboard bits as they are see through or semi opaque and the lids are really well fitting! Only thing I have to remember is never to accidentally put one in the microwave!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

......you turn your nose up at the prices in charity shops!
I can't belive how expensive some of these are becoming. And this is something I love to do, once a week for an hour I scour the local charity shops and I have not bought anything for ages as they are getting quite pricy. You can stand there and agonize........

I agree 100%. The tee shirt I picked out to look at in a charity shop a couple of weeks ago was from Mr A...and £1 more expensive :eek:0 -

You used to spend all day on Saturdays in shopping malls, now you stop in on Saturdays and spend all day Sundays at car boot sales.
You used to drive a brand new car every three years, now you you drive a ten year old car and intend to continue driving it as long as it will allow you to.

You used to make scores of impulse purchases each week, now you have your own one week cooling off period between deciding you want an item and actually buying it.

You know you're a moneysaver when...
...your 17 year old daughter digs out home movies of her 5th birthday party, and you're wearing exactly the same fleece watching as you did on the day of the party:o.
Plenty of life left in it yet - bonus!I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

You know you are a money saver when you ask family member to save the large plastic milk containers so that you can use them for storage.
They are brilliant for pulses that you have bought in bulk once you have opened the bags, easy to pour out small amounts at a time, easy to store all stood next to each other in the pantry and you can see what you are looking for straight away.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50
