I have never been as glad to have a store cupboard as I am right now. My bank cards have beed used fraudulently and my account has been emptied so right now I have £1.42 to last me until payday (over 2 weeks away) whilst the bank investigate :(

Luckily we have a full freezer and full cupboards so we will not need to buy any food over the next few weeks. I am so pleased I built my store cupboard up in the weeks before Christmas :)

Just been to Tesco, other than salt (which I actually want to use as home made de-humidifier!), Cravendale (got in Coop) and bread flour (also got in the coop- I needed it as used a lot making rolls etc recently). The shelves were actually quite well stocked so noone seems to be going mad stockpiling- despite us being a small rural island community.
I echo rosieben's thoughts mancbird. This is another example of where a store-cupboard can make such a difference.

Thanks orkney, penelope penguin and groupies. I really am out of here now. No longer any of my warnings etc. I don`t know if you are aware but I am in close dealings with energy stocks and the financial market in general so I do get a picture of what lies ahead. Next step is various industries shutting down as I said a few days ago and then short weeks for many but hey I am sure your breadmaking skills will help them to plan ahead

Genuine thanks to the wonderful virtual friends I have made on here, lots of hugs

I DO understand the frustration you feel - as you know. Kittie - O.S. Board is for ALL of us - not just one particular viewpoint out of several valid ones.....and yes....i saw what was happening AGAIN:mad: There are many many people who ARE O.S. and read us (including thee and me) - not just a few people who are obviously all friends with each other.

    Please come back again....

I hope that some of you are sharing your stocks!
I am keeping an 84 year old neighbour going, because she can't get out, so DS is running bits and pieces up to her and a hot meal every night.
Not all of us have an I'm alright Jack attitude.

Excuse ME....that was unkind and untrue. kittie wouldnt bother at all if she didnt care...

We had both "kept our mouths shut" through the bout of badinage earlier on...even though I know I was certainly thinking "Any minute now i bet this thread gets thrown to the wolves on Discussion Time again.......I wish they wouldnt start this lark up at intervals - as if its all some big game.".

Many of us are doing our bit to help keep someone or other going - I dont think its wise to assume otherwise.

Kittie would find it difficult to live with her conscience if she didnt at least try - and I understand that...

So let me get this straight ceridwen. You and Kittie are allowed to be friends with eachother and agree on a subject but if a few other people who may or may not be friends come along and disagree with you and Kittie, we warrant an angry smilie. And how do you know who we are or are not friends with?:rolleyes:

    ...

Who is "they" and what are "they" "starting up". Dear God.... I happened to be one of a few who disagreed with Kittie. That's it. No more to it than that and certainly no game or conspiracy on my part. I really do have better things to do ceridwen. Absolutely no one has been nasty to Kittie and yet she has been quite vociferous in her replies to anyone who disagreed with her. I see you choose to ignore that. But please remember that as long as posters behave in a manner which is neither nasty nor vindictive, abusive nor victimising, they have every right to express their differring viewpoints, even if they do dare to have a different viewpoint to you. ;)

I'm very sorry if Kittie feels the need to leave because not all of us feel she is qualified to tell us when we will experience utility shortages. No one has made her leave. I am disagreed with all the time and have even been stalked and jibed at repeatedly as you well know but I chose to stay and accept that an internet forum takes all sorts.

I've got 54 bargain packets of wipes on their way from Boots, if the delivery man can get thru' the snow. So I've got spuds and wipes, I really must get myself organised!
    Now there's a recipe I haven't seen before..meals out of spuds and wipes.;):D

I'm just eating from what we've already got in. I live walking distance to 3 spar's, 1 co-op, 1 Tesco, 1 Sainsbury's, my mums, my MIL's and my grandmothers ...sure someone will feed me.:D

That simply isn`t true ceridwen, I don`t actually know anyone on here. I am sorry you feeel that kittie has been picked on, simply because a few people didn`t share her views on some posts.

I have been reading your threads with interest when I am on here, and have found them very good reading. I have also read some threads from kittie which weren`t my cup of tea and I said so at least once.

I find it disappointing that you seem to feel kittie has been ganged up on simply because others had a different viewpoint.
