I was an EBICO customer, and wanted to support them. I found when I had a problem, maybe a little out of the ordinary, it was hard to get it resolved. I came to the conclusion they rely too much on their agents (some of whom do not understand thier relaionship with EBICO), and EBICO do not have the resources to give a fast response to customers themslves.

Again, to be fair, it took less than 2 hours for the response to my email, and was impressed that it came direct from the MD of Ebico, although I didn't originally write to him.

That's quite an impressive response in my opinion, even if I don't agree with the decision the company has made.

Having said that, I do agree some of the SSE staff don't fully understand the relationship.

I like how I start a thread to let people know of a free £12 and all hell breaks loose over it, think we should keep our mouth shut in future!

How many people not on prepayment actually use Ebico anyway when there are cheaper alternatives out there?

I'm on quarterly billing with Ebico which is not the cheapest but then the savings for switching are small.

I currently use 1149 kWh of electricity and 2022 kWh of gas and get a total of £231 for area 18.

    the top performers are:

    npower Go Fix is £195
    npower Go Save is £210
npower Sign OL 17 is £212
    Atlantic OL fixed is £214
    NT green is £220
    npower juice is £220
    npower standard is £220
    followed by Ebico at £231

I suspect the devil's in the detail somewhere so will stick with Ebico.

Minimum usage seems the most likely, possbily a two tier rate but according to energy helpline there is only one tier or the discount would be set to the minimum £21.

Maybe I would be detered with a stupidly high DD or something or it would take a lifetime to get the discount.

Don't know what it is with cashback though.
